ZG F1 Drift Trike [BF Pitch Trim Gyro demo]

Descrição
A fun 3 wheeler for sliding around the Salt Flats, doing doughnuts, maybe some light hit and run fights.

Features a Better Future pitch trim gyro (underneath) to precisely control the ratio of grip between front and back wheels.

Pitch forwards (slider right) means sharper turns and easier spins, as the front wheel gains traction. Pitch back (slider left) does wheelies. Neutral pitch (gyro 'off') tends to wheelies and understeer badly - there's too little grip to the front, as the tech is build slanted, with the front wheel higher up.

[E] + [Q] (or [Up] + [Down] arrows) can manually pitch forwards and back, e.g for wheelies while driving, or blasting off into the the air with the boosters (on [Shift]).

See demo video (embedded above) here on YouTube: https://youtu.be/bTJ_Z225DVo

Not suitable for sloped terrain!: The gyro is too strong and prevents the wheels all getting traction at the same time, massively throwing off the steering.

90mph cruising and 148mph boosting (for long periods). Anchorable for self charging. Separate power controllers (on rear) for shield and repair bubbles.

hey ZG, I got the Toyota AE86 Trueno shared, and I must admit it's not what I wanted, but it is a good car

@Sambozi83 - Check out the Dev's troubleshooting FAQ (try reinstalling the game, update your drivers, etc, etc): https://forum.terratechgame.com/index.php?threads/bug-reporting-guidelines-and-template.17187/post-121371

Are you trying to get the unstable version of the game to work? If not, try switching to that. If you still have problems, please go to the main forum and report it with all the details they ask for: https://forum.terratechgame.com/index.php?threads/bug-reporting-guidelines-and-template.17187/post-121371

Good luck.

Thanks @GreyerSoft - I do quite like bikes and there's not been many 3 wheeled techs so far.

Zero, you sure love your bikes dont you?
Great build nevertheless!

Yeah of course you knew about the spoilers lol never thought of using that thing in that way and I thought it only had one attachpoint. Maybe it needs way less weight or almost none towards the back? This gives me some ideas and I used to be a huge fan of drifting cars, so... Gonna be fun lol
Pitch trim for the weight shift here is just genius, I should add.

@burger1113 - The small sideways spoilers are just decorative (looked better than Ven batteries there). Top spoiler gives additional front downforce against thrusters at higher speed, to stay closer to the low speed balance (I originally had a second one stacked above and behind that one).

And yeah, this doesn't drift sideways nearly as much as you speeder, which I think is more fun, personally:steamhappy: - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1714956596&tscn=1557137397

The main feature of my build is to be able to customise the grip balance between the front and back by tweaking the pitch trim gyro (just a *little* - it's sensitive). Front grip for spinning out easily into doughnuts, back grip for more stable cornering with a lot of understeer.

Bonus wheelies on demand with keyboard pitch controls (which I found by accident).

LOL! I just tried it and it seems like it has too much grip to drift as much as I thought it would, but it drives so well. But it wheelies if I hold thrusters while turning? lol That is awesome. I guess the thrusters being placed low and the grip + torque from the wheel is causing that.
By the way, I'm guessing that since you put the spoilers at the front on the side of a block instead of on top, it might not be giving you any downforce at all...? the two spoilers would be cancelling each other out at the moment, which I wonder... if you intended it for some reason? Curious.

hmm, I'll try. I'll try to keep it as light as possible, and get the details right(the folding lights will not be open or done at all), I will might have to use the EXP ramp pieces though for the hood, but I can get the main build done
ZeroGravitas  [autor(a)] 4/mai./2019 às 15:38
I'm sure that one could do that. Give it a go... ;-)

If it ends up being too heavy, you just add a hover pad or two, underneath. Plus sideways fans or adjustment thrusters in the boot to help push the back end out.
