The DiscoMan set gives the demoman a very flashy appearance and has a strong reminiscence from the 1970's disco era. The bell bottom pants has the same style of reflection as a disco ball, which makes them very appealing to the eye and unique. Putting the flashiness aside, the pants also have two stars on the back pockets, gold trim on the sides, and a belt that is seen from the back. I made sure that the bell bottoms are compatable with all the other shoes the demoman can wear. This allows you to have irrelevant items work together to become a style such as being a disco-pirate, a disco-geenie, and much more!

The platform shoes are very simple in style, but the edging going around the toe gives it some character. Because I didn't have to use an alpha channel for glossiness like for the bell bottoms, I could make these shoes paintable. At first, I thought the white area should be painted, but that didn't appear right to me. Instead, I reversed that and the white really stands out against the trim and heel / ankle area. I was very confused about what the socks should be since I wanted to reflect on the disco theme. I tried polka dots, multiple rectangles of various shades of color, and pin stripes, but it was too complex for my taste. So, I reverted to a single rectangle going across the sock near the top. When painted, the socks have a slightly darker / grayish shade of the color painted, so it doesn't interfere with boldness on the shoe.

I spent at least 80 hours working on both of these items, but along my journey, I have learned A LOT about 3D modeling, texturing, skinning, .VMT's, and using the alpha channel....and listened to a couple BeeGee's albums on YouTube, too. Thank you for reading my overview and thoughts on the DiscoMan Set and I definitely look forward to submitting more of my ideas before the Halloween update.
