I was always disappointed that Seto had no unique dialogue, in fact she has no dialogue at all outside of her recruitment speech and one line used when she gets up from being K.O. Her mother Esata the Stone Golem on the other hand, has a ton of unique lines for situations that will almost never be encounter, especially since your interaction with her is very limited throughout the game.

So what this mod does is add more dialogue to Seto, Scion of Esata the Stone Golem. There are two basic dialogue group triggers, the dialogue package for the character and dialogue that triggers when you change biomes.

For the character dialogue package, I:

Added NPC recruitment dialogue. Now you can chat with Seto when you first meet her and potentially recruit her without capturing the Bugmaster or the Holy Pheonix. The downside? If you recruit her before this, then you become an enemy of the Shek Kingdom as you are effectively kidnapping one of their leaders. I included this as a means to get around the buggy recruitment triggers that Seto has in vanilla.
Assigned Seto to player dialogue package slot (previous generic shek warrior which didn't seem to trigger)
Assigned lore relevant vanilla generic dialogue from Esata and Shek warriors to the event triggers under Seto. This dialogue should trigger when Seto sees a neutral squad, locked in a cage, tied to a pole, being eaten, defeating an enemy, being healed, healing others, running out of first aid kits, getting up from being K.O., spotting animals, encountering physical hazards (acid rain, etc.) and losing limbs.
An additional start healing dialogue that will use the targets name.


The second change is to the biome dialogues, which comprise the bulk of the random chatter that you hear from characters like Beep, Agnu, Hobbs. This is dialogue that I have written based on my interpretation of the characters, content from FCS, and the Kenshi Wiki. These dialogue lines are focused on Seto and other speakers are based on race. However, there are lines specific to certain other unique characters. To date, To date there are dialogue lines for:

Beep, Headshot, Ruka, Doctor Chung, Izumi, Burn, Sadneil, Kang, Miu

The biomes affected by these changes are:

Stenn Desert - 7 lines. (world state related)
Bast - 1 line.
Fog Islands - 1 line.
Deadlands - 1 line.
Swamp - 5 lines (world state related and biome related)
Cannibal Plains - 1 line.
Misc Biome (triggered on numerous locations) - 3 lines
Okran's Pride - 1 line (world state related).
Royal Valley - 3 lines (world state related)
Darkfinger - 1 line
Great Desert - 4 lines (world state related)
Arach - 3 lines (world state related)
Floodlands - 1 line

All of the dialogue is lore-friendly and should match the situation. This will not change Seto's starting stats or equipment and shouldn't affect any of the recruitment of her. She is one of the more difficult characters to recruit, though so make sure that you have fulfilled the right world states in order to do it. Same for triggering the dialogue, most depends on world states as it is commentary on what is happening in the world.

Also note that in order to make this mod work, I have changed the dialogue trigger frequency. The majority of dialogue is set to be spoken only once, so if you miss it you'll never hear it again. This mod changes the dialogue frequency from once to once a week in game time. I have been playing with these settings trying to find a balance between immersive dialogue and annoying chatter. If you find that the characters talk too much or talk over each other, let me know and I'll try to tweak it if I can. If you don't like chatty characters, then this probably isn't the mod for you. If you just wanted the vanilla dialogue and none of my content, I would download Let's Talk by BLKCandy. It makes all the same changes and more. If you load Let's Talk after this mod, the changes from Let's Talk should override the frequency of dialogue in my mod, but leave the new lines intact.

As request, I did a small update to Yamdu, so that he would have a more fleshed out dialogue package using Hiver Prince and Hiver ronin vanilla dialogue. He should also refer to player recruits by name when healing.

Shoutout to Nanogiraffe and Boron for the guides on how to mod dialogue. Let me know if there are any issues or grammer problems and try to screenshot the dialogue for me if you can.

Same issue as previous comment, can't seem to get Seto's early recruitment to work. She either rebuffs for not meeting whatever the requirement is or the conversation simple ends without an answer nor recruitment.

It used to work but for some reason I can't get Seto's early recruit dialogue to trigger at all now. Tried on 2 different saves (different characters and everything), tried importing, nothing. Got 22 relaitons with Shek, have all stats higher than Seto but after I say "But what about what you want?" it just ends the conversation.

Its supposed to have her evaluate you and reject you if you don't meet the requirements or offer to join you if you pass, but no matter how many times I hit I repeat the conversation nothing happens.

Hello, I would like to translate the mod into french. First, do I have your permission? Second, When I am in FCS I check the base files and your mod, then choose translation. But how do I save the files to only have a translation of your mod and not everything from the base game translations? Can someone explain that to me? The translation guide doesn't help for that part because it assumes the game doesn't have a base translation.

If I check only your mod, of course it loses a lot of references and not everything shows up to be translated.

It always seemed to me that Seto had too little original dialogue for a unique recruit, anyway thanks for creating this addon.

howdy howdy, I'm not sure if this mod is still being updated or if you're keeping an eye on it, but I opened this in the FCS to make sure the dialogue wouldn't kill me on impact. I've been burned by dialogue mods before, so it never hurts to be safe.

I ended up cleaning up some typos and minor word choice quibbles in the dialogue, but didn't mess with the overall *contents* of this mod at all. Taunting the heir apparent of the Shek Kingdom (or just being a vulgar ass) is the kind of reckless nonsense kenshi lets you do in vanilla, and you didn't go too far imo.

The problem is the only way I'd be able to share these grammar fixes is to post a mirror, or share my version of the .mod file with you directly.
I'll default to keeping this version of the mod to myself, unless you give me the go-ahead one way or the other.

The recruitment doesn't trigger in spite of having met the requirements and picked the correct dialogue path. I'm pretty sure this mod is broken.

i like this, shes such a hard to get and interesting recruit but she doesnt have much unique dialogue, great job!
