Animated Ascellian Portraits (2.2 Le Guin +)

Adds a custom race for Stellaris with animated portraits. Does not include a preset Empire or any new starting systems, traits, etc.

Up to date for version 2.2 Le Guin.
Compatible with prior versions, though it is recommended to use the version intended for play at 2.1 and earlier:

This mod is but a sad shadow of its former capabilities, as throttled by the 2.2 Le Guin changes. I will try my best to adapt and re-introduce old functionalities over time.

Still included is:

A feminine humanoid alien race with:
- 5 different body types
- 8 different eye colors
( red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, violet )
- 6 different outfits
( red scientist suit; ruler, governor, general and admiral uniforms; priestess robes )
- 20 different hairstyles, with alternative royal version for rulers
( long to shaven, feminine to masculine / androgynous )

4,800 of the original 24,000 possible unique combinations remain intact.


Please note that the artwork used to create this mod is not original, though edited and adapted. The original artwork is by Evgeny Tumanis ( ).

I did a bit of reading myself, mostly in the Elves of Stellaris discussion, and my understanding of the issue is it's a simple problem of the developers wording a script as listing all organic species types where they could've just listed "not non-organic." If that's the case it's theoretically an easy fix, but supposedly the developers have also promised a patch of their own sometime before Christmas. In that case I think it's probably better to just let them resolve the issue on their end. Just enjoy being a bit OP in the meantime I guess? c:

I think I remember someone applying a fix for that on some custom races. I don't use it, but the fix might be useful for applying to this mod?

I think he is referring to this.

In short, custom species don't seem to use any upkeep apart from job upkeep.
just tested it on the testbuild (checksum: 555a) and the issue appears as expected.

@gerardx17, I'm not sure which issue you're refering to. I didn't have time to progress my own save very far, but as far as I could tell everything seemed to be working as it should. There shouldn't be anything to distinguish this custom race from the default races in how the game will handle it, but if you run into any troubles, please post here and I'll troubleshoot as best I can.
