Rails Core

Description
If you came here from another mod's dependency list!
You don't need to (and I'd suggest not) subscribing to this mod. ME will automatically add it to your world if needed.

A set of scripts the allows people to place bendy objects and ride the rails.

Mod developer? If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Not a mod developer? You probably want to subscribe to a mod that uses this library as a dependency. For example, my Rails Modpack mod.

Multiplayer sync is a bit finicky but generally should work.
Most people are using the "syncer" block from https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1984799831 though.

If you aren't opposed to discord, the KeenSWH discord (https://discord.gg/keenswh) usually has people hanging out in #help-medieval that can explain these mods.

i recently elevated an existing world from SP to a DS. i was playing with friends and when i move my rail cart i built, 2 bogies attached via catch blocks to a platform, when i move it through a switch it encounters phantom forces that accelerate it down track and i can't bring it through the switch if i move it backwards. is this because i elevated a SP world to a DS?

the incorrect friction forces should now be fixed.

Hi Since that last rails core update Our hand cars move slower than walking pretty much unusable We use the HP hand cart mod so cant imagine how slow the vanilla cars go also noticed rail farms move much slower Our world is heavy on rails but most are using hand cars as they develop their steam powered locomotives I assume that the friction on the rails was increased ? This has pretty much shut down our rails system which is world wide Hills that were easily crossed with the HP hand car are now impassible and all speed advantage over walking has been lost

Weird, difficulty-wise, I would have considered walls the easiest, and stick fences the hardest. Battlements and wall-walks can make things pretty complicated though, I guess.

fences and palisades yes (though really the system needs improvements before it should be used for that).
Walls not really since they are usually a lot more complex than a single block.

I know you're pretty busy fixing the game these days (praise be upon ye btw), but out of pure curiosity: Do you think the system you use to dynamically "draw" rails could also be applied to walls, fences and palisades? This would make building castles so much more organic!

It is important to note that the game is not longer abandoned and second if you aint got 10 bucks what are you doing playing games on a computer get a job

@Shanna To the person saying that you can't get stuff from the workshop on a pirate version, that is very much incorrect. There are multiple steam mod download websites and you can easily extract it into your game. Some games this won't work but for this game it works perfectly fine. I wish I didn't buy this game, I love it VERY MUCH but it's not worth buying a game that was abandoned before completed.
