N.S187 The Calne Branch - Chippenham 'Gronk' Yard Duties

Description
Early 1960s, and 'Warship' D800 is about to enter Chippenham Station on the Bristol to London Mainline on a driver training duty.

Route: The Calne Branch (Workshop by philip)
Duration: 15 minutes
Scenario: Standard
Extra DLC: Western Hydraulics Pack, Riviera Line in the Fifties

You start with your 'Gronk' dropping off your brake van.

You then have to drop of the rest of your wagons - with some at the Bacon Factory.

A double headed freight goes towards Bristol.

Then you have to pick up one coal wagon and two carriages for Calne.

Reverse, and then after a 4-6-0 Castle blasts through the station up the 1:300 towards Swindon, you can crossover into the small dead end platform.

I hope you enjoy this different scenario based at Chippenham.

As i have said Not Silent have been a busy boy over my years on the VR starting on Steam then the W class y class T B S F class diesels and the L class electrics and All the Walker railcars Derms and Silver 600 hp railcars red tait suburbans blue harris subburban cars and even the little raill tractors illegally

I remeber one of the fclasses that i drove was shunting the old goods shed melb yard it was agravy yard at the time pulled a rack of about 25 four wheel wagons no air through the train pulled up to the very top of the hill got a red light from the shunter applied the engine brakes heard two unsual cracks from under the cab felt the engine lurch got down on the step to see both brake pull rods dragging no brkes as the locking pins had snapped no hand brke by this time she was going down the hill told the fireman to grab his bag and both bailed out she got to thirty mph c rashed through the shed out ontoone of the main roads lucky no cars hit shunter not happy

I just checked the 'F' class, and got quite a surprise - to me an Aussie version of the gronk. I didn't know something like it was here. Ha ha so you drove one of them too. I spent hours watching the equivalent. My dad worked at the Westinghouse Brake & Signal Company at Chippenham. Stupidly I never made sure I travelled on this branch before it closed. Great to have the route to create on though. Glad you enjoyed it.

loved the shunt reminded of of the old victorian railways f class diesel and the many shifys i wprked on them by the way another route to my long collection

How do you find the route ? A search for "The Calne Branch" does not find it .
