Description
This micro-mod adds two new stern sections for vanilla cruisers and battleships. (Because, in vanilla, the only way to get point defence on cruisers and battleships is to use hangars, which are rubbish.)

Added ship sections:
--- Cruiser Point Defence Stern: 2 point defence, 2 aux utility
--- Battleship Point Defence Stern: 4 point defence, 2 aux utility

FAQ:

Q: Does this mod also add PD ship sections for [some other mod]?
A: No. This mod only adds ship sections to the vanilla battleship and cruiser. If you want PD ship sections in [some other mod], please ask the authors of that mod. I'm sorry, but I'm not prepared to patch & support every ship-size mod that's out there.

Q: Aren't the screenshots out of date?
A: Yes, they are. (In particular, stern slots should only have aux utility slots, rather than normal utility slots.) I'll update them later. The ship sections in-game are consistent with the other sterns.

Technical info / compatibility:
--- No vanilla game files are edited, so this mod should be fully compatible with all other mods.
--- The vanilla game contains graphics for stern sections with 2 or 4 small weapons; this mod reuses those graphical assets. I haven't tested the mod with all of the ship designs, so it's possible you might get graphical errors.
--- Compatible with the Humanoid DLC, thanks to the efforts[forum.paradoxplaza.com] of the kind people at Team Nessassity.

A lot has changed in v2.0, so it's quite possible that vanilla/unmodded hangars are OK once again. IMO, the biggest issue in 1.8 & 1.9 was that the AI for fighters/bombers was awful - they would often fly off in a random direction without firing a shot. When that happens, you haven't made a small sacrifice - you've practically zeroised your offensive power (for those ships).

I use cruiser plus BB point defence all day (ya need to sacrifice some firepower but thats where 2 differnet designs come in handy (one for PD and Bombers and another for sheer firepower with all L slots(plus XL in front for BB)

Updated for 2.0, and for compatibility with Humanoids DLC. Not thoroughly tested, as 2.0 has only been out for a few hours - please let me know if you encounter any bugs.

...and I've just noticed they didn't add an S4 battleship stern model for the new humanoid DLC. So, this mod will probably cause problems if you've chosen the humanoid ship design. It probably won't affect the AI though, because the AI doesn't like to put PD on their ships.

FYI, you can usually get away with running outdated mods, as long as they're simple. Even the upcoming massive 2.0 update is unlikely to break this mod.
