make music mod necessary - is so bad solution, its my opinion and i will found path to off this
Actually I'd disable it in a heartbeat. Why? Because I don't like how petty the developers were.
The whole reason they made the music mod "integral" to Calamity, is because, they were MAD people weren't giving the music mod the same attention they did Calamity. So they changed it to make it so Calamity won't function without it now.
Which is a Childish and Petty reason, given that by doing so, it broke MANY of the older mods that were still barely holding on that also required Calamity. But by making that change to Calamity, the mods were broken for Good, unless updated to use the new "calamity".
When they did this, I lost around 20 some mods I used, and only 8 were still being actively developed, so they were recovered, but the rest were lost, and were actually pretty cool.
So for me, its out of spite. The development team forced us to use it, so I'll use any option to remove that requirement.
Yep. Just eliminated a large grouping of older mods for "marketing". Which as far as I know, they weren't even making money on to begin with.
plus whatever ad rev from ost/streams/teasers and monthly patreon donors
You don't actually expect the devs to be able to get vanilla music style for flashy bosses, right? (It just wouldn't fit in in my opinion)
you'd also still have the OST taking up RAM and disk space, mostly disk space
