To be fair, the guy kind of implied that you would just stumble upon some CO2 just lying around and ready to be picked up by hand and processed. Also, after that he said that it had to be extracted from coal or oil, but CO2 is a gaseous state; it is produced by combustion. You can, however, extract it from the atmosphere.
And there is no reason to be ashamed if you don't know something. There is plenty of reason to be ashamed when you are denigrating others to feel better about yourself, though.
