Installing Mods for dummys
Please give this a bump for all those newbies. Or dont.... idc.

Welcome to warband..
I've seen too many posts and have explained this to way too many people now. So heres your guide to install mods into warband.

Step 1. Download the mod you would like.
Step 2. Unzip/Extract the mod from it's compressed state using Winzip or 7zip into a folder anywhere.
Step 3. Open the folder you just created.
Step 4. You will see a folder with the name of your mod. Copy/cut the folder from inside (after step 3) and paste it into your mods folder in your Mount and Blade Warband Directory.
Steam users go to My Computer C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\MountBlade Warband\Modules
You will see the Native folder in the mods folder. Thats how you know you're in the right place.
paste the FOLDER in the mods folder. [[keep the contents of the folder inside the folder]]
Step 5. Launch warband.
Step 6. Click the drop arrow next to the words Native.
Step 7. Select the mod you would like to play.
Step 8. Enjoy

If that was too complex.. heres a video.

If you installed a mod and it messed up your native game in any way, you installed it wrong.
Be sure to follow the list...

If you installed it correctly, go to the mods directory located in your mount and blade warband folder. here C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\MountBlade Warband\mods
and delete the folder that is your mod.

How exactly did it mess your game up? If you installed it correctly, just select native from the mods on the M&Bwarband launcher. mods do not change any game files in any way unless you install it incorrectly.

Besure to check the configs for the mod once you select it.

to uninstall the mod simply delete the file and try again

i deleted the mod files. it messed my game up by omitting several textures suchas many items in the inventory menu or when im holding them. some armor peices are also missing so whe have headless knights running around being stabbed by invisible swords. I'm not 100% sure a mod did this but its all I got when it comes to how this happened

this was before i found this guide so i installed the mod incorrectly but now i don't know how to fix what I have

well since you already did something wrong, of course it dosent work. lol
You can undo the damage you've done if you messed with the game files.
Uninstall and delete the Mount and Blade Warband folder in the steamapps/common folder.
Reinstall.
Your game will be fixed. THEN follow these steps when you install the mod.

If a reinstall did not work then the problem is much bigger than moving a few game files.
Did the game work at all before? This is turning into something not mod related.

so it's a texture problem. Go to config on the warband Lancher. Select the options that would fit your computer. Directx7 is a lot less stress on your hardware.
Make sure edit mode is disabled.

Another thing to watch out for, when you reinstalled the game, make sure it updated to 1.158.
Start a new game. Possibly corrupt save. Be sure not to use saves from a previous update.

I'm sorry bud. If your game was working just fine before and then stoped working even after a fresh install. I don't know what to tell you. Possibly start your own thread with the details of your problem and maybe someone will be able to help you. =/
