why did you make the empire pragmatic instead of malevolent

This was the Empire Civ but I think bugged out when updates and changes happened later on. I'm not sure what exactly because it worked on mine and others. I was in the process of updating it but now, after updating my PC I get a Disk write error when trying to install GC3, I have tried all fixes but one, which I'm not keen on doing just yet. In short, you may have to do it the painful way.

I know, It's just a bit hard to distinguish when they aren't all labeled as Empire or even star wars ships. Going through each item to find out which ones are star wars ships would be a bit of a headache

@Lord Just FYI, not every item in Omnibus' Collection is an Empire ship.

Are there custom ships to go with this? I see that you don't have a Star Wars collection and I would rather not have to download all 933 items in your Complete Collection.

Ah alright, that's what I was helping me along with so far anyways. Weird that they didn't add such a simple thing as a copy/paste function. Even Spore had that xD Already created some simple turrets and comm stations and such.

No, not a cut and paste but something I think is probably just as good which is the Save as custom part (I call it exporting parts), although the custom part needs a delete for parts saved for mistakes made.

It has some tricky little rules to it too so practice is needed. Once you place your first part, all other parts should connect to it either directly or by another part linked to the first part. If you accidentally put a part on the starting point, it will become its own part and wont link to the finished custom model.

An easy way to check if everything is connected once you finish is to select the first part and off set it back and forth and then put it back where it was. The entire model should move, if it doesn't, there is a part or parts that have connected to the starter point.

Sounds complicated but is pretty easy to use. The hint above becomes more clear when you make an export / custom part.

Just one question as for the Ship designer, is there a copy/paste function somewhere hidden on a key? I just can't believe they didn't put one in in the first place ^.^'

Thanks mate. Awesome that the shipset is still there. Yes the game can do some odd things at times but for what it is and what you can do with it, it's great and although the designer needs a few tweeks it is still the best and easiest to learn.

Its not a bad thing to put down a design to come back to it later with a fresh head. You often see things it needs you may have missed while building. So keep on playing with it. If you need some hints, I can offer a few.

When I get to the update, there should be new and remodeled ships, their own space stations! Character pics for hero's etc and something I have been quietly working on for some time now and trying to keep it from using tooooo many parts which is hard. I'll hint that it is an Iconic part of Star Wars. Enjoy! :steamhappy:

Absolutely, I don't even wanna imagine how much nerves and time it must have costed you to meticulously design all these ships from various franchises with the annoyingly uncomfortable ship designer of GC3. xD Right now I'm testing my first Huge hull design with a missing bow cause I can't bother to complete the ship in one go xD

Btw., your ships look absolutely amazing, love the detail on them! Especially the Klingon ships are awesome.

Also I fixed the issue with the Empire ships somehow. The files were all in the folder, but somehow they were hidden (probably cause I downloaded them through a multiplayer attempt with a firend first). I copied the files and put them in again, and suddenly the designs appeared ingame. o.O The game really behaves weirdly sometimes.

lol, it'll be best atm. I have a lot of stuff I want to put out but I have to look after me and my sanity first. Between the dreaded burn outs, daily living and an excessively large design folder, not to mention an attention span of a goldfish and the ability to be easily distracted by the slightest thing, Im amazed I've got this much done..lol :winter2019joyfultearsyul:

There was a shipset with it, although I think its now dated as it was for crusades. I've been slack and haven't updated it yet. I have been updating the ships slowly as well, but not releasing anything yet. Its on a slow to do list.

But anyways, is there a collection of SW ships to go with this mod, or do people have to download every single of your ships manually? Cause there is no ships showing up in my game.

The above is the Empire Faction. There is also the Rebel Alliance and Krell factions. I put everything I upload in the Omnibus collection.

Excellent. Im glad it works for you. lol I still have the problem even after resinking. I will be updating them one day in the future to add hero pics, cargo ship redesigns, update some ships and add space stations. This will all be down the track at some point.

I am having trouble with that myself. For some reason the game decided to change my saved ship style to a bunch of random core ships. It has also done it to my Rebels and my Space marine faction.

I have openned a link to this problem in the bugs comment but have heard nothing. You are the first to mention this here, I was hoping it was only my problem having the original creation. The more people to report this the better. I will revisit this and my other factions when this problem is fixed.

Yep. Horribly annoying. The resync should (might) work then as I should have the shipset saved as long as I dont make changes like I did with the Empire here and the Rebels :nonplussed_creep:

Not on my end, it made things worse. Thanks for the suggestion though. I will rework these one day, but (I believe it to be a bug) it has also stuffed up my Space Marine Civ with random crap aswell. This has set me back quite a bit. It means I have to start a new Civilisation from skratch and build it all in one go, so I'll have to have every bit of info and pics, ships and star bases finished and ready. I can't rely on the saved Civ edittor as I believe the problem stems from there.

when u first come too the main menu there should be a button that says, resync mods...press it..after it gets done, all ur nods and shipsets will show up...

The only thing I can suggest at this point is to create your own Civ using the ships saved from your download and saving the shipset along with it (it is fairly straight forward to do). Also mention this to Stardock, there might be a bug stopping it. Tilarium, is it just my stuff or other peoples as well? If its just mine, I may have a bug somewhere. If it is others aswell, the game may have a bug.

Note: These factions amoung other things, will get an overhaul after the colour editor comes out which will be under a little more construction and updated which might fix any problems.

@bbrock I'm in the same boat as you. I've downloaded this and the shipset and a couple of other civ mods and can't get them to show up. I've tried all the things people have suggested in the forums.. unsubbing and loading the workshop via the game and resupping and moving the mods into the GC3 Crusade/Mods folder.

Hmm, have you downloaded the ship set for this? I have a problem with this and the Republic, it wont find my shipset for me so tells me they are invalid (but I am in the middle of testing things and it hasn't been updated). Unfortunately I can not check on my end to see what is going on. I haven't heard it happening with any one else so left it alone as I intended to replace the cargo ships and space stations before re-releasing it. Although other things have my prioity atm.

If worse comes to worse and you have the ships in the downloaded section, you can save each one from the ship designer which will put them with your ships. If nothing else works, you can try to create your own shipset and race / civilisation setup. The pics, icons, ships and designs you need should be downloaded for you to create a new race(just don't upload it as your design..lol).

I have subscribed to Galactic Empire, I have mods enabled in settings, and I can't get Galactic Empire to show up as an option when I start a new game. I have all the DLC, including Crusade and Intrigue. Any help someone can give me? Thanks.

Sigor, yes it has been brought up before. I would agree if they were on the ground fighting. Their ships had a lot better track record and could actually hit what they shot at, be it an X-Wing, Millennium Falcon or an asteroid. The Imperial Navy did know how to shoot. Gwyrddu, I thought I made them maleviolent, I will have to check it. I could argue the Imperium is actually Pragmatic though, only the leadership is evil. I'll look into it

Accuracy makes sense. If you disregard the hero's plot armor, the Empire is suppose to have good aim . I am confused as to why they would be pragmatic instead of malevolent at this point though...

@Omnibus, through you research advanced technologies that uses resources, ships are upgraded automatically to those techs and start using resources. If you don't notice, you can find yourself run out of duranthium/thulium/elerium/promethion etc. for just building regular fighters. You have to change their design and use resourceless versions of equipment at cost of less damage/defence/life support etc.

This is made using the game, you don't need to crawl threw the files. To upgrade weapons and equipment, go into the designer / ship editor and edit the equipment, change name (eg, Mk II etc.) and save. You should have a new version with the equipment. In game, you can get to the deigner from the shipyard when upgrading that ship.

As for the resource cost, I don't like how this is done. This is my least favourtie part of the game and they could do without it. It seems random and don't think it should be use in ships. Maybe in the weapons or equipment but I have made basic ship hulls and wanted to build it in a quick game just to see how it looks ingame and just the shell of the ship wanted resource. Was not impressed. I have been told you can turn the resource off, although I haven't looked into this yet. I mainly just build.
