One of my fav mods was wearable lantern. Hope that gets put back in someday.

I found a lantern that works in Helgan. It's location is near the cart in the last part of the cave where the bear is . Right where the ncp gives you a bow to help shoot the bear.. Its name is the Quality Lantern. Hope this helps people that can't find them..

Are these for SE only, or do they require SkyUI? Because neither this nor your other lantern mod works at all with my classic or classic+SKSE.

Also, update for the community on Chesko: supposedly he will return to Skyrim at some point to fix his now broken wearable lantern mod. Until then, no love even on Nexus.

LHAV Oct 4, 2012 @ 2:06pm
Alright thanks any way
Gunner  [author] Oct 4, 2012 @ 12:43pm
not with my mod, sorry
LHAV Oct 4, 2012 @ 12:22pm
any way to make it work without having to re-load and exit and re-enter cells to cause lighting?
Gunner  [author] Oct 4, 2012 @ 12:07pm
If you place them on the ground, leave and re-enter the area ( i think saving and loading works to), the lanterns will be lit. So, yes, they can be dropped and they will stay lit, I do this for areas around my house.
LHAV Oct 4, 2012 @ 2:16am
Same question as Zombieparty I see so much crap about Lanterns but why, I can use a torch and i'll live with one handed to sacrifice for light or i'll use my head and cast a spell but any ways to me there value is in setting them up somewhere for a Light Source the same way I did back in Morrowind.
zombieparty Sep 30, 2012 @ 5:07pm
can you drop them and they stay lit?
Jabber Aug 15, 2012 @ 12:37pm
Is it compatible with wearable lanterns mod?
DewDeeDee Aug 11, 2012 @ 11:27pm
why not just use the ingredients of : one lantern + one leather strip + some kind of fuel.

I read that the ancients used natural oils and animal fats for lanterns. Skyrim has troll fat, and alchohol can be used for the lantern oil. If not troll fat, you can use an animal fat (mod) to make lantern oil (mod) and then it will be a travel lantern.
DewDeeDee Aug 11, 2012 @ 10:22pm
can lanterns found in caves/dungeons still be used as light?
TheGotlinator Aug 8, 2012 @ 6:16am
can't find the recipes anymore any help?
Saren Jul 8, 2012 @ 6:56pm
Hey would this mod still work if i complete the civil war question line?
Gunner  [author] May 8, 2012 @ 5:36pm
@Blackbeard, you should only use one or the other. The other one (lantern replacer) has everything this mod has but with addition to already useable lanterns. No, they won't burn out if you place them in your house.
LIBERTY PRIME May 8, 2012 @ 3:38pm
Is this mod compatable with your other mod that makes all those useless lanterns lit and usable? And will my crafted lanterns burn out like normal if I put them around my house?
Gunner  [author] Apr 29, 2012 @ 3:40pm
yeah they should blackbeard, after u leave the cell and re-enter they should all be lit and give off light
@ silverpaladin, are you talking about the dismounting mod? i might need to make a video for it ;p;, what it does is removes the animation when u dismount a horse, so u just drop off from the horse as if you quickly dismounted, wasting no time. It's a really useful mod and doesn't look bad either.
LIBERTY PRIME Apr 29, 2012 @ 2:52pm
If I put these down all around my house will they give off light?
SilverSnake Apr 29, 2012 @ 10:58am
Hey Gunner! Mod looks good so far. I made a lousy lantern. Its cool =) Sry for mebbe noob question, but whats ure second mod about? I didnt understand that.
nebelph Apr 28, 2012 @ 11:29pm
Fair enough. Well anyway, will give this a go. Always thought it was weird that the only working lanterns couldn't be picked up. Thanks for the responses.
Gunner  [author] Apr 28, 2012 @ 9:49pm
no the lantern replacer version is the same as this one except the lanterns u can find laying around (not the static ones) are already quality lanterns and ready to use. The frost salts are already used for a blueish white color, I'm most likely not going to change that.
nebelph Apr 28, 2012 @ 9:21pm
Taproot for green. Maybe use frost salts for blue and then use broken soul gem shards (can't remember their proper name) for white? No idea how hard they'd be to implement, I just think they'd be cool for use in decorating places. Would I be right in thinking the lantern replacer version has everlasting burn?
Gunner  [author] Apr 28, 2012 @ 8:51pm
@ nebelph, they last a really long time but not infinitely, it also seems like it with normal use though. Yes follwers will use them automatically like torches. I considered a green option after I first released it, hadn't done anything with it, I was thinking maybe by using taproot from a spriggen or something.
nebelph Apr 28, 2012 @ 7:21pm
Couple of questions: Do the torches with salts ever go out (if so, any chance of an option for everlasting lanterns)? Also, will followers automatically use these lanterns like they do torches? Finally, any chance of blue and green options?
Gunner  [author] Apr 26, 2012 @ 8:12pm
It just changed the sound of the gold lanterns to not sound like a regular torch

What did the latest update do? April 21st.
BAPBHΛΩ Apr 24, 2012 @ 4:24pm
Oh hey, Morrowind. I missed you. :<
SKEEF NATION Apr 22, 2012 @ 8:32pm
I agree with Robot. This would make a lot more sense if they didn't evaporate. Have them refuel with troll fat or something. But, as is now, still pretty cool. I'll stay subscribed.
southpaw317 Apr 18, 2012 @ 1:57pm
I second robot on the used up notion...
ChozoSR388 Apr 18, 2012 @ 6:24am
I can't find the recipes OR the journal anywhere...I have the entire Skiyrim Survival collection installed, and I have the Wieldable Lanterns checked for usability...Am I doing something wrong? I go into Belethor's or Bits & Pieces, even the Pawned Prawn, and they have nothing in the Books category dealing with lanterns...Help?
☠Captain.Fr.Harløck☠ Apr 17, 2012 @ 2:36am
Good job
Mae Apr 15, 2012 @ 7:24am
how!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PumpKinHeadX Apr 11, 2012 @ 8:11pm
should try and make it a jack o lantern
DJC Apr 11, 2012 @ 6:04am
Can you pick up lanterns that are placed in the world?
Robin of Spiritwood Apr 9, 2012 @ 10:03am
The light radius from the standard lantern is pretty good, much less harsh than the Candlelight spell, and way better than a torch. Well worth carrying.
Suggested adjustment- refuel lanterns with say Dwarven oil, and revert them to the original empty unusable form when they time out. Having the item evaporate is -strange. Also causes a rebuilding issue- we have to source new raw material.
Tried out the magic version, but the violet light gves me a headache :-) If you hit something with a Frost version, should they not freeze instead of catching on fire?

Is this mod complimentary/compatible with other mods that make interiors and exteriors darker/more "realistic" such as RCRN? I'd bet this has been asked before so sorry about that.
