Yeah 4.0 looks to be good! I don't think it's going to affect opinions/diplomacy much so there may still be much space for this excellent project of yours.

Well... a lot has changed with diplomacy and keeping it updated all the time was very annoying and at some point I more or less decided that it's not really worth it anymore for the miniscule impact it actually had.
Maybe I'll revive it at some point maybe not. Let's see how vanilla Stellaris developes, especially with the big 4.0 announcement.

One problem with this is that the spiritualist fallen empire will humiliate over and over again my robotic ascended empire, despite not being a neighbour or touching their Gaia worlds.

Any way to add diplomacy options like these?
- let us pass through your territory or risk war
- close border to X empire or else
- give us system Y or risk loosing more
- don't excavate archeology sites if you value your lives

Updated for Stellaris 2.8.* !

- basically complete reevaluation of all the things that I had modified in the past versions of the mod
-> some things were changed slightly, some things removed, some things added
-> should be now better than ever before, if I would do version numbers, this would 2.0 or something

- added a brand-new diplomatic event!
-> if you have ideas for more or less simple diplomatic events, that could have opinion impacts for empires, let me know!

- new addon!
-> look for the link in the description

When you do, there is a mod manager that doesn't read the name of your mod correctly because of the "/" in the beginning of the name. Would be nice if you could remove those /" so the full name of the mod can be seen in the mod manager. Thanks :-)

I have some good news and some bad news:
The good news is, yes, I certainly want to update my mods including this one.
but... the bad news is that I don't know when I will get to it. I'm currently not playing Stellaris and I don't even have the new DLC (yet).
I'm really sorry, but I can't say a date right now. Maybe in a few weeks, maybe in the summer. Also depends a bit on some personal issues in my life right now and how much time they will take.

Any plans to update? See a lot of room for potential growth for this mod as the galactic community feature is a bit half baked (of course, its pdx)

Hey xor. Looks like I didn't post after my own bug debacle. I confirmed that there were disconnect AND desync problems in vanilla stellaris and therefore the few mods I had are off the hook- at least for now.

While you could probably use them together it certainly wouldn't be perfect and it's not actively supported.
Yes, you're right, it would be quite a lot of work. You should never say never, but currently I have no plans to add support for mods that add or change ethics. Because the way the implementation works, that would mean doing a major overhaul and because I don't play with mods of those kind it would be also pretty hard for me to do it right.

I'm guessing this and your other mod do not have built-in compatibility with Petruxa's "Ethics And Civics" (or the Alternative version?

I'd be great to see something along those lines, but I'm guessing it'd require quite a bit of coding.

I personally wouldn't object to looking at the logs. But I'd have to first find out where they're kept.
Also most tutorials are for windoze- which I do not use. But I guess I'll look now for logs.

I see. You should take a look at the logs. Sadly I have no experience with MP, the only thing I know that it seems to be pretty buggy in general.

That's correct, or rather I agree. However the errors are different.
I only had 2 mods that were in question, and I tested with both on, the other one off and this one on. I also tested with both off. Turning off the other one did nothing. Turning off this one changed the error from 'desync' to 'connection lost'. 2 different errors, one with the mod and 1 with 0 mods.I also thought this mod was safe, hence I was so sure the other one (glavius ai) was the prime suspect. But there you have it.

I doubt it. You should test without any mod and then each mod on it's own and then each mod combination.

Playing mp vanilla also causes 'connection lost'. So before further testing. It seems like either this mod is off the hook, or there are 2 separate problems.

Hello, this mod is causing crashes in MP. I haven't tested enough to verify if it's caused by interaction with the vanilla game or other mods. However the only other other mod I use that makes fundamental changes is glavius' ai. it has been mostly cleared of suspicion. Petruxa's cultural overhaul is the last one, but I wasn't using it when crashes reliably and consistently happened.

Really? I wonder if the same is true from other mods. After the 2.3, even after rolling back, my game has been insanely laggy. Figured it might be a problem with the new mods, which all seem to run. Only problem is performance...

Is there an option for 2.7 lying around somewhere? This game isn't worth playing without all the fixings, and 2.3 won't be there for weeks.

In "Paradox Mod Launcher" the name for your mods is simply a "/"; the game generates as a namestring "/"Better Diplomacy: Realistic Opinions"/" - which the game itself displays correctly - but the mod manager doesn't. Maybe you can change the quotation marks?!?

New update causes a crash on save game load. Throws out several errors in the log, if I had to guess, I think it's a bracket issue at a cursory glance, that is either too many left or right brackets in the wrong places, etc, etc.
