By the way, where is the shield located?
Also, you mentioned that you didn't understand console commands- Here's some help
1) The button under escape (~ and ` on the button) opens it up.
2) To search for item ID numbers, type in:
help "xxx"
where xxx is words/letters in the item name.
3) To add said item to your inventory, type in:
player.additem yyy z
where yyy is the item ID (8 characters, but you don't have to type in leading 0s. Trailing are still necessary. eg gold is 0000000f, but you can type in just f) and z is the amount of the item you want (any number).
4) To add spells, it's the same as items, except player.addspell yyy, where yyy is the spell ID, and there is no z, because you can't add multiples of the same spell
