why does a hat pack have to be so complicated, all the other hat packs ive see nbefore they removed them for some reason, were just easy subsribe and thats it no downloading uplaoding files or anything

I made a hat of my friend and I dont understand how exactly I am supposed to get this hat to work/what folder to put it in. I got the example hat you made of the crate disguise and that let me save it locally but other than that I cannot for the life of me figure out how to save other hats locally

I think you are right and the problem must be on my end since the crash report windows says: "Crash Source: mscorlib. Mods apparently were not resposible of this crash.

Yep, I'm seeing your mod as compatible, it loads just fine for me and I even managed to save two .hat files without crashing, so maybe it's something on your end?

It is a stand alone mod, but I have also included the individual .hat files in it, so I believe it should work with Hat File Mania (at least if I have done it correctly), but every time I try to load a .hat file via Hat File Mania the games crashes.

Hats from the workshop work by themselves; i.e. they depend on their own mod.

HatMania Packages are just empty mods with .hat files.

Hat File Mania will detect HatMania Packages and allow you to copy them to your DuckGame.exe folder, which means that they will load as long as that file exists.

A future update to Hat File Mania will enable saving any hat to your DuckGame.exe folder so that you can play it regardless of mods.

But if I wait, you'll update this so hat packs aren't required?

Wait, so, let's say I get a hat from the workshop. If I want to play with it, I need to make a hat package? Also, where do the hat files go when you first get them from workshop? I can't find them.

This is a tool to convert hats to .hat files that are compatible with online, so once you convert the hats you can switch off the mod and the hats you've saved will be available online

Do the other players in online battles see your hat too? Or would that require them to install the mod too?

Yeah this version only loads HatMania Packages, a later version will be able to save .hat files of any loaded hat

I'm not sure what I did wrong but if I press F11 I only have one option and Resume, and if I select that one option then I only have Resume

In that case, hold down the Fn key on your keyboard, then press the F11 key
