Spent awhile toying with this entertaining mod, I will let others try without spoilers on ways to defeat him.
No issues, no CTD started fine with SKSE as well.
Thanks for the mod, waiting on the next chapter from Bethesda is hopeless it feels.
Add that with onehanded damage potions, 200+ healing potions, vegetable soup, and you're set. One could kite the guy and just damage him, or just stand there spamming the hotkey for health while dual-wield attacking him. The latter of which is fairly easy on a level 80 character (assuming you max out health with perk points).
^Which leads to my frustration. The most overpowered, but legitimate, methods for skyrim just felt like I had to do them more... Instead of taking 30 health pots to fight with, I just planted the ingredients, fast traveled a few times, and voila! 200 health potions. But perhaps this is just how Skyrim is.
I probably came off a little rude in my comment, so I apologize on that.
As for damage reflection, yes it is in vanilla but only for the character to utilize according to my knowledge. I understand the reasoning behind its implementation, I was just frustrated at the resulting purpose. My character, maxed out armor rating and around 1000 health, using high damage and fast melee, gets killed by my own hit. This isn't some trick, it's the result of maxed out enchanting, alchemy, smithing, onehanded, and light armor. The ability is not seen much in skyrim, except if the player character takes it, and I was thrown off by its usage. Again, I understand it's implementation. I've had a death where I have won the fight and downed him, my finishing blow on him being my own demise...
I've beaten him on a level 50 on Legendary with vanilla. It just takes a bit of health potions, maxed out one handed gear, and spamming a few buttons. I'm just another hardcore skyrim player (~1800 hours) that wanted an interesting challenge with good effects. This is tough, I'll give you that, but I didn't find it much different from many of the other "insane boss" mods.
And I don't know why the guy below me is using a ton of mods to change the game, and talking about it as if we know what he means... Just do it on vanilla and tell us that way.
I understand the mod author believes they have created a unique character for high level players in skyrim, but it's really nothing special. It's a character with max armor, 6000+ health, weapons that can tear through maxed out armor and near 1000 hp in one dual blade power attack, and weird effects that basically are coded so the really powerful skyrim characters have weird trouble taking him down (the biggest example is some kind of damage reflection once you're weapon becomes too powerful... I've literally died from just swinging at him).
Some kind of teleporting, summoning, etc., would have made this interesting and nice. To put things simply, it's an enemy that just has to be beat by kiting, health potions, and pure bludgeoning.
First run (Lv. 51 Gunslinger Speeder, Altmer male Garnet Swallow) was decent. Using the Quicksliver Boots and other speed-enhacers, I managed to cut Wulf down to half health on Legendary using the Magamic Harquebus before getting cornered by him. There were no followers that run.
Second run (My joy, Lv. 73 Gunslinger, Lungari male Gejori Lungari) was nearly a victory. Using prmarily the Flintlock Blunderbuss at a medium range, I had my followers (Kharjo, Serana, and a Direwolf) go in first. They used a seeming hit-and-run tactic normal of NPCs, and I just wailed at him 'til I ran out of blunderbuss rounds. I swapped to the Flintlock rifle and went after him from afar and chopped him down to maybe a couple of pixels left... before he yet again caught me in a corner and annihilated me at close range.
I'm close to beating him, I just haven't gotten it yet.
Or you know, you could get the ol' Flintlock mod for the rifle.
He swamped my Falmer (Snow Elf), Chrysalis Vivian Esmeralda, a Lv. 71 Barbarian/Enchantress, a feat few have accomplished.
Even with mods (Even "OP" mods), he's a HARD fight. He KNOWS the little tricks, nulling even the guns from Aethernautics. So far, circling him is the only thing that's worked, besides having Vari'kaj and Sceolang go in as cannon fodder.
On Vanilla (Or with DLCS only), I've yet to beat him. For that, I'm using a Dunmer Lv. 70 Alteration Spellsword, Elsrot la'Fey. I haven't made a dent in him, even with Kharjo and a Stray Dog covering me. Again, circling him has worked.
In short, Enchanted Melee seems to work with limited ranged and healing. Circle around Wulf to do something, and have a follower (preferably an essential one) to soak up some damage. 9make sure said follower is well-equipped.)
I'll report my finding's when I encounter him.
Also, I'm gonna try and take him out with a Dawnguard Vampire hunter - Ranger loadout using a crossbow and the Runic Axe. Current level 143.
