Open the namelist called Slavic.txt, here you'll see that names1 and names2 are both Russian, male and female respectively. The way to fix this would be to move the first_names_female paragraph from names2 up to names1 and completely remove everything remaining of names2, like the female surnames. Just do the same for the others with gender congruence and change the numbers to the new order.
I'm not sure that this is going to work, but I hope it does. Everyone is free to do whatever he wants with this mod.
I don't knwo much about modding.
You're, of course, free to make this change yourself, though. I can even link to your mod from here, if you want to upload your version to the workshop.
Alrighty, didn't read the bug section. >.>
Would a possible fix be realising a mod with less authentic surnames but no blank name bugs, or would it be too much work?
When I tried it with this update it worked a lot worse in the ruler creator, as in not at all, but it worked much better while I was in-game. I don't know why this is, but it's great if it's consistent, as manually naming your first ruler is no trouble at all.
This mod is essentially finished now, I'll just try to clean it up a little and add some more names for everything.
I'm very glad that so many people have enjoyed it, it's taken me quite a lot of effort, even though it's a very simple mod.
Thank you for the mod .
From Srebija .
Honestly, you're just making a fool out of yourself with your ignorant comments.
Every subgroup of Slavs have gotten 3 namelists each, discounting that male and female are seperated for most of them. And if you look at the lists in the file itself you'll see that these traditional Czech and Slovak names take up as much space as any other.
If anything, the West Slavs are over-represented in this mod, considering how small the West Slavic group is compared to the East Slavic in real life.
Like to play Communist style, so your mod gives lot of flavor.
usmc_BF - Why don't you try the mod and then comment on then names, instead of assuming that they're wrong? I'd like to hear feedback from somebody who knows West Slavic names well, as II'm not from that area myself.
Name them as cities (but not capitals), add some historical admirals and lesser gods. Also adopt some historical cruiser names like Varyag, Gromoboy.
Battleships
Use the capitals of Slavic countries, the most powerful gods, and MAYBE the highest caliber historical figures (Russian emperors, Czech, Polish and Serbian kings, heroes like Alexander Nevskiy, Miloš Obilić ).
Note: Use historical hero names with great caution.
For example: brilliant Russian general and national hero Alexander Suvorov... ruthlessly crushed Polish rebellion in 1794. Can we just name ship after him in this mod? :)
Corvettes
Such small ships often don't have a name, only number. (And they die a lot, LOL )
For example, use abbreviations MO-NNN and BO-NNN ( Small Hunter / Large Hunter, classes of WW2 ships)
Destroyers
In Russian fleet, destroyers mostly have adjective names - Bystryi (Fast), Gromkiy (Loud), Besposhadnyi (Merciless), etc. Sometimes they named as heroes of war/revolution.
Polish destroyers often named after natural phenomenons - Grom (Thunder), Błyskawica (Lightning), Burza (Storm)...
Planet names are easy. Just look the map of Riussia/ Eastern Europe.
Use names of big cities (Moskva, Minsk, Krakov, Praga, Bratislava, Saraevo, ...), great rivers (Volga, Dnipro, Danube, Visla, Lena), and significant geographical regions (Krym, Ural, ...)
Use the logic. Cold planets can have names like Yamal, Taimyr and Chukotka, ocean planets - Baltica, Ladoga, Adriatica.
And so on. Follow this vector. :)
If you have any more ideas, feel free to share them.
Maybe the "blank-named character" bug could be avoided. Try to leave opposing gender section empty instead of deleting it.
I'm going to work on the mod a little more now that I'm playing Stellaris again. Do you have any requests for the mod?
