@gxt_2009
yea
gxt_2009 Jun 26, 2024 @ 6:34pm
the prequel to gigastructural engineering
samsockeater Mar 16, 2024 @ 2:39am
this is hilarious regardless of the seriousness of the question
Elowiny  [author] Mar 16, 2024 @ 1:26am
@Valaso Osalav
take a wild guess!
Valaso Osalav Mar 15, 2024 @ 10:28am
will this work with 3.11 and up
samsockeater Aug 3, 2023 @ 3:56pm
be interesting to see this added to gigas as an easter egg, blame the recent habitable dyson sphere origin mod thing
Elowiny  [author] May 10, 2023 @ 6:41am
@snúa@22
this is the opposite of a dyson swarm what are you talking about
Crazylom Aug 18, 2022 @ 6:00am
Making gigas since before utopia :D
Yanzihko Mar 22, 2020 @ 1:55pm
So that's where it all started...
constentien6000 Jan 30, 2020 @ 11:41am

Thank you
Elowiny  [author] Feb 12, 2018 @ 9:45am
@Gravefiller523 No idea, but I don't see why wouldn't work.
V&lveExclusiveGamer Feb 12, 2018 @ 12:37am
Does it work even now?
[DFS]SciMan3010 Jan 4, 2018 @ 3:09pm
my only problem with it is.....It looks really ugly.
But that isnt really your fault since you used whatever resources you could scower.
Elowiny  [author] Sep 30, 2017 @ 11:42pm
@Galaxar7 The mod is no longer being developped. However, it still works.
Galaxar7 Sep 30, 2017 @ 5:00pm
please update to 1.8v because this is 1.4
samsockeater Sep 21, 2017 @ 6:49am
wait, the gigastructure mod is you? that mod is rather epic
samsockeater Sep 21, 2017 @ 6:49am
if you do remake this, maybe add an option to start on maybe a partly damaged one, how is the other mod going btw?
Elowiny  [author] Aug 19, 2017 @ 2:50am
@axensgeka I'm working on a new megastructures mod to understand how Utopia megastructures work exactly, so I might be able to re-do this mod in the future.

@Larsson2016 Obviously it will require Utopia. It's much better than my clunky way of making the megastructure buildable in thus mod.
Larsson2016 Aug 18, 2017 @ 7:27pm
If you update this you should make it so it requries Utopia because it is unfair to the people who bought Utopia nad to the developers if you don't. Aloso, if you don't make it so it requriees utopia, the developers might delte the mod from steam workshop.
Shivalesca Aug 4, 2017 @ 3:17am
Any update ? :)
Wolvesbane1 Jul 28, 2017 @ 3:26am
hey can u update this mod but leave it that it dose not require utopia
Узурпатор плоти Jul 12, 2017 @ 11:58am
He is alive!
Elowiny  [author] Jul 12, 2017 @ 11:37am
+Hypernova1912 That's a nice idea. That way, it will be clearer and maybe less glitchy. I'll try to do that.

If anyone else wants to suggest anything, feel free to do it! I'm very open to suggestions.
echthesia Jul 12, 2017 @ 11:31am
I might suggest that, since in order for these to be habitable they have to spawn planets, you make the actual planets invisible, and just have a megastructure, perhaps with the dyson sphere model but larger, as the model itself and use that for the energy deposit. You could gradually spawn the invisible planets as the construction goes on.

Greetings everyone. As you may have noticed, this mod has been abandoned for ages (It still works though). However, after some thinking, I've decided that I MIGHT revive this mod in the near future, complete with Utopia integration and the whole ascension perk stuff. However, as I said, it's only a "might". Maybe I'll end up reviving it, maybe not. No promises, but I'll at least try.
Узурпатор плоти May 25, 2017 @ 9:49am
Где продолжение, ленивая задница?
scarlet_vermillion Apr 14, 2017 @ 8:20am
a crazy stack of ringworld districts...
well done
Morgan Apr 14, 2017 @ 6:09am
As long as this doesn't end up -requiring- utopia to be owned in order to work in the future, keep doin what you're doin.
RoronoaDroagon Apr 12, 2017 @ 9:02am
awesome, miss the mod, and it's a really good mod.
Elowiny  [author] Apr 12, 2017 @ 8:56am
+Thejorge0 I'll probably try, but no guarantees.
DepressoExpresso1 Apr 11, 2017 @ 4:18pm
A fantastic mod! is there anyway you could update the model or add the livable sections to the utopia dyson sphere? that would honestly be awesome
RoronoaDroagon Apr 8, 2017 @ 5:37am
it's a really good mod, and i prefer this one to the one added in utopia, it would be nice if this mod got updated for 1.5.
echthesia Apr 7, 2017 @ 1:05pm
Perhaps you should change it so that it simply adds a version of the dyson sphere that is habitable using the megastructure modding system.
Sterling Phoenix Apr 7, 2017 @ 12:32pm
This is a meme now tbh

Although the Dyson spheres in the update are really just giant solar panels :'(
Beliar Mar 29, 2017 @ 7:03am
Actually i have the same problem as Hypernova1912 describes. Build like a 4 of them and SOME look like in his screenshots. Also colonizable parts are always in the middle floating around the star disjointed from the sphere. Also sphere doesn't require 100k minerals and 20k energy : if you have less than that, it will take all you have and spawn construction project anyway.
echthesia Mar 15, 2017 @ 10:49am
That does actually help, but the sphere does still have many, many gaps in it. It looks rather like a really big net. Oh, well.
Elowiny  [author] Mar 15, 2017 @ 9:14am
+Hypernova1912 Your issue doesn't show up in my game, so I have no idea what could be causing it. However, I suggest you try using the "planet_size" command on the console to shrink the oversized Dyson Sphere to a reasonable scale (The ringworld segments should be inside the sphere model).
echthesia Mar 15, 2017 @ 8:20am
Reinstalling the mod also fails.
echthesia Mar 15, 2017 @ 8:17am
I tested it without any other mods. The issue still occurs.
Elowiny  [author] Mar 14, 2017 @ 7:56am
+Hypernova1912 I'll have a deeper look into it tomorrow to see if the issue also appears in my game.
echthesia Mar 13, 2017 @ 3:15pm

Here's a screenshot. I'll try to run it without any other mods and see what happens.
Elowiny  [author] Mar 13, 2017 @ 1:29pm
+Hypernova1912
I don't understand where the problem could be. Nobody else has reported this issue and it works prefectly fine for me. If anyone else has the same problem as Hypernova, please report it ASAP.
echthesia Mar 12, 2017 @ 12:29pm
Well, after mucking about for a bit, I discovered that:

A: No other mod is messing with the system scale.

B: The Dyson Sphere entity the represents the outer sphere itself has gaps in it no matter what I do to the system scale.

These lead to point C: The problem is somewhere in your mod.
Elowiny  [author] Mar 11, 2017 @ 1:55am
+Hypernova1912 Sorry, but then I have no idea what's causing the issue. It should work fine. Maybe try reinstalling the mod or the game.
echthesia Mar 10, 2017 @ 7:00pm
Hello? Elowiny?
echthesia Mar 9, 2017 @ 3:40pm
Shrinks planets or system scale? I checked all running mods and none of them mess about with the system scale. Dyson systems shouldn't be affected by planet scale since their planets are not modified by any other mod.
