Guiiiiiz I don't know LUA and I need help if possible to do something with a custum character...

Is possible to make the new character start with alredy a transformation? That's pretty easy if I make him start the run with 3 object that give the choosen transformation but I want make him start as fun guy without giving him any mushroom items... Also I want change the original sprite of the transformation with a modded one if possible.

Think I found the problem - Multidimensional Baby making clones that never burst and bounce around forever. So I added an option to limit the spore range and make them burst on the ground instead. (Disabled by default)

well, i was trying to get screenshots of what would happen, but basically, the easiest way to see the effect is enable debug, give yourself "a dollar" on greed mode, and buy multiple items after giving yourself enough mushroom items to trigger "fun guy", continue buying items, specifically ones which alter how the tears work, and you'll see what I mean.

Can't get most of those to interact with the spores. Either it's a different mod causing the problem, or some more indirect thing I haven't seen.
Repentance does have performance issues with stuff like Trisagion wrecking the game but I don't see why the spores would be worse than normal shooting. They're basically just Rubber Cement + lots of range up.
In any case there's an option to turn the spores off in the mod file if you just want to get rid of them.

seems anything that is slightly resource intensive. mostly any of the techonology ones, brimstone, and bomb tear relates ones
Incognito  [author] Oct 9, 2021 @ 6:55pm
Any specifics on the crashes? Character/tear effects?
This mod doesn't implement anything new so it's likely interaction related or a game bug.
Inkticious Oct 9, 2021 @ 2:58pm
fun guy is very buggy with repentance, the spores crash the game almost constantly, along with making it hard to see items, enemies, and obstacles in the room due to them flying all over the place pretty much just being a nuisance, and not at all a help.

Yeah, haven't tested it extensively though so please report anything weird.
BrainTaser May 18, 2021 @ 2:12pm
Does this work with Repentance?
hutdavide Nov 27, 2018 @ 4:46pm
is it just an aesthetic mod or greatly enhances the transformations?

Hi, I seem to get the fun guy transformation randomly upon reloading a save file, it doesn't always happen so I can't pinpoint what causes this, but it's really weird, I think it's only when I have 1 or more mushroom items, though never enough to get the transformation legit.

It's weird, but useful I suppose, maybe it's a mod conflit though.

As far as I can tell Stompy isn't actually a transformation, it's just pretending to be one or something (I'm serious). The problem with this is it's kind of hard to check when the player has it or not. And then giving the player a stomp effect is basically just giving them Leo and then taking the costume away, which is also a mess. I can see ways in which I'd do it but all of them are bad hacks.
the7screw Apr 15, 2018 @ 5:15am
Could you give the Stompy transformation an actual stomp effect?
Incognito  [author] Mar 26, 2018 @ 1:38am
I'm not surprised. Death's Touch did the same thing until I special-cased it; it's evidently a quirk of particular tear effects that don't like being size-scaled for some reason. Unfortunately I don't have a good solution besides disabling tear effects altogether and that takes most of the fun out of it. I'll add something to the description about it.
Arendeth Feb 20, 2018 @ 9:23pm
The spores added to the fun guy transformation can cause the game engine to long majorly when interaction with tear effects added by mods (at the very least it can blind the player by filling the screen with light until the game becomes unresponsive).

@ Incognito Thanks man, if anyone is currious, in order to edit the mod, go to Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\250900\853287046 and you'll find the .lua file. Open it with notepad or Notepad +++ and everything is very clear to understand and edit.
Incognito  [author] Oct 21, 2017 @ 11:55pm
You can disable individual features in the lua file. I THINK I considered everything when I did that, so you should be able to disable everything for each transformation. If you or somebody else wants to split/port it into individual mods then I have no problem with that being done. Everything in the file is commented, it shouldn't be hard to do.
DiogoSN Oct 20, 2017 @ 3:05pm
May ask if you can split the transformations into their own mods for better customization?
Fakespeedrunner Sep 1, 2017 @ 8:31am
So does it work guys? I would even like to disable any damage trigger mods but to see better transformations.
Incognito  [author] Mar 17, 2017 @ 10:32pm
Well, whatever went wrong with it should be fixed now.
An Innocent Kitten Mar 17, 2017 @ 6:26pm
i've got good news and bad news:
the good news is that it dosent crash like it used to
the bad news is the mod dosent work at all for me, and i have checked, it is installed
An Innocent Kitten Feb 14, 2017 @ 4:34pm
kk, glad to know i'm not going crazy and thx for looking into it at least, also, i said "whenever i restart a run", but sometimes it dosent really do it till the third reset or further in, if that helps
Incognito  [author] Feb 13, 2017 @ 11:07pm
Okay, I managed to reproduce the crash a few times and then it stopped happening. I have a suspicion about what was causing it, but I can't be sure as I can't reproduce it.
Incognito  [author] Feb 13, 2017 @ 10:38pm
The only similarity I can see is that both mods define a variable called RNG. But then it's always a local so I don't know why that'd interfere with anything. Anyway, I changed it, see if it works.
Incognito  [author] Feb 13, 2017 @ 10:19pm
I have just updated it but I can't think of anything that'd cause a crash. Those mods are quite different to this one, it's unlikely there are any conflicts going on. I've heard of people getting crashes due to trying to manually load mods by replacing the game files or similar, but it's not something I know anything about.
An Innocent Kitten Feb 13, 2017 @ 10:00pm
and if it helps, i have the same exact problem with these six mods: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=854363251
An Innocent Kitten Feb 13, 2017 @ 9:57pm
did you update this mod recently? cause it's started crashing whenever i restart a run(yes i've narrowed it down to this mod, and tried it as the only one in the folder)
Im in the house like carpet Feb 7, 2017 @ 2:17pm
Fair enough
Incognito  [author] Feb 5, 2017 @ 10:50pm
Thanks for the suggestions. It'll probably be something fart-related but probably won't involve another "when you take damage" effect, we've got one of those already.
Im in the house like carpet Feb 5, 2017 @ 10:31am
Fun Guy: Whenever Isaac takes damage he releases a mega-fart cloud but not the rocks, and Isaac has a decent chance to randomly emit poison fart clouds around him. Issac also becomes immune to poison farts and for each mushroom item isaac has, he gets a .25 damage up. I feel like this would make Fun Guy a lot better.
LYMPHBEAST Feb 5, 2017 @ 10:09am
An idea for fun guy: maybe he spits out poison spores around him once an enemy gets close to him?

Oh Crap, this mod is awesome.
