I realize I'm late to the party, and you probably aren't playing the game at all anymore. Just thought I'd mention it for anyone else who does still play who would like that option. I like having short cluster/sector for part of my station names.
Is it posible to set order like for example /first or /last? Or is it outside of scope of this mod?
Example: Superior is warehouse used as headquarters. Is not built fully yet.
I set name Headquarters /grn building (indication that constructor is there and is building station). I don't need that part of name for subordinates names.
Would be very usefull to see it in properties menu. Withoght need to open details for each ship.
I often sent by mistake for trading freighters intended for another job.
Now it should not happen anymore :)
<t id="10000">De Vries.short</t>
<t id="10001">DV</t>
<t id="10002">Omicron Lyrae.short</t>
<t id="10003">OL</t>
<t id="10004">Albion.short</t>
<t id="10005">AL</t>
<t id="10006">Mahlstrom.short</t>
<t id="10007">MA</t>
<t id="10998">.short</t>
<t id="10999"></t>
/sec.abbr
/clu.abbr
And i could confirm, the autoname on build/buy doesnt work...but the personal templates do
<t id="5" comment="Name Template for Small Ships (will be applied when bought, leave empty to not use this)">/red/purpose /grn/type /blu/class</t>
or
<t id="5" comment="Name Template for Small Ships (will be applied when bought, leave empty to not use this)">/MED</t>
with:
<t id="18">/MED</t>
<t id="19">/red/purpose /grn/type /blu/class</t>
but if u rename the ship to /MED it work :D
Hast du das Mod-Verzeichnis geleert und neu entpackt? und welche Dateigössen haben die t/0001-L049.xml, die t/0001.xml, die md/ut_cac_object_name_managment.xml, sowie die subst_01.dat?
it is already possible to use it without update by entering
/COLOR#AARRGGBB#
where AA is alpha (just use FF here)
RR is red
GG is green
BB is blue
all of them in Hex.
so if you want a BADA55 Ship just prefix its name with
/COLOR#FFBADA55#
Wink
i will add better support in the next Version (its already done in my dev Version) and the new synfax will be
/hexBADA55#
but i want to update another Project first ;)
=> Added new Function to use a Name Template for new Ships in the custom file
=> Changed many Expressions to shorter Variants (you may have to check/update your custom file)
-> made obvious distinction between updating expressions and non-updating ones (former is prefixed with $, the latter with / )
Steam Version will follow this Weekend if no Issues arise.
One more thing: i think in the next update there will be a complete overhaul of the Expressions - it will differ between /-Expressions, where the result will never change for a certain Object (most currently used are like this), and $-Expressions, where the Result will change based on circumstates and is updated (also these will be omitted in a shortname, which is used for example when displaying superior names).
i will provide a seperate custom file which converts all old Expressions to new ones (will also work retroactively)
Nice work!! Keep up!
Thank you... I will enjoy renaming as it was boring to rename purposed ships....
See you!
