Glad you can learn something from it, though!

I may require some permission in order to do so. It would be useful. Then most games could work together with Nomads, Lizardmen, Shadow Elves, Archons and Dark Elves along side.
I merely have a planned goal to do this by the end of year to finish modding for Aow 3.
So far, so fun. I need to figure out where to link the new icons to the dwelling updates and the units though. Any idea in which rpk I might find them? When I finish this eventually, would you like to get my changes to update your mod? I might try to create something fresh in the future and could add those Dark Elf Dwelling bits in there too. What do you prefer?
Btw. you once did write some python script to help with the localization of mods. Does it still exist? ;-)
It sounds like it's conflicting during map generation. It's been a bit to long since I've opened the corresponding packs in the mod tools, though.
Feel free to give it a shot. Just tick these mods in the manager, then press create new mod, open the RMG pack. It should be enough if you add Dark Elf Dwelling to the dwellings pass for the Underground.
We do encounter a crash of the game now and then during map generation. Do you think it might be because the dwelling and decodence/RMG don't liek each other?
A poll of the best mods of AoW3 is being organized and this one has been selected among the top 20.
You can rate it and the other 19 mods here: https://www.the-battlefield.com/aow3/index.php?page=bf_poll&pollnumber=27

Anything gameplay related, or not played it that much yet ?
The pink globe on top needs improvement. It is way too big and looks like a blooming flower.
Color contrast is poor and walls do not separate visually from dark rocks. Waterfall is interesting conceptually, but there is something in it that makes me thnk it is out of place. I need to look at it more carefully again. I hope this helps.
So no, that's not in the planning. Also, wood elves don't have as much of the units im missing with the dark elves.
I'm the one who made the models. As Gloweye showed, they will look very different ingame.
The screenshots I made here are from Blender, a 3D Modelling tool, and they show the raw 3D Data. In one word, they are not "rendered." The Comparison Gloweye linked: http://www.charlatan.at/TMP/DarkElvesWIP_04.jpg
...is very accurate there.
In truth these just lack lighting and specular effects, and the difference is as huge as the link above. That's pretty much normal in modern 3D models.
It's slowly progressing towards the Dark Elf Shade, Bladedancer and Spider Queen - the only 3 units left. Once they are done, we need someone to rig them in 'Autodesk Maya' or else I'll explore how to do that. Then you will have unique models and appearances for the D'elves!
When the mod tools came out, I dediced I'd try my hand at making a fully functional Shadow Demons race, but the modeling required stopped me from ever getting anywhere with it.
That, and the recreating the Harvester's Devour ability from AOWSM; I never quite got it right.
Even now I have the prototype projects for the Shadow Demons and a Racial T4 mod sitting around that'll never get released unless I magically gain epic modelling skills overnight. (And even then it would take months to get it all done.)
Stormlord:

Sharpshooter:

Note that these units don't have textures applied yet. The difference is going to look something like this:
http://www.charlatan.at/TMP/DarkElvesWIP_04.jpg
1. Storm Lords are strangely small on unit card, compared to all units while sharpshooters, shades and blade dancers are bit bigger (cosmetic) Blade dancer blade goes through her sister in arms body but she won`t object :D and Matriarch sitting position is quite funny hehe
2. Shade could use rework to look more shady (assassin or more ghostly style or something) and less armoured - high-elfy
They play quite nice love how they are strong deadly attackers really but are fragile too, nice work. Hope you will keep improving this its great addition and it will force me to play with underground avoided before :)
Thanks for testing it out.
