So why isn't the VDV a special unit of the USSR? It's surprising how a unit that was part of the Deep Operations theory and appeared before all other paratroopers in the world isn't a special unit of the USSR.

delete cache as recommended but the bug where bombers deal no damage to cities still there see no solution in subforums great mod till u find bugs the slowly unplayable

Awesome Mode had a lot of fun with it.
the only issue is that when a city state gets freed the game may crash and you have to reload sometimes up to 4 times. Is the state taken the issue is gone

Subscribed to this mod and then launched civ. It disabled my video card and replaced my video drivers.

In the earth 1936 mod

the whole world mod always crashes when i get the notification that russia has annexed the baltic states in 1940. no matter what nation i am playing. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this?

The best mod I have ever played. There are so many possibilities with the gameplay. I could dominate Europe as Germany or be the Greeks and support the allies on the western front. With all the different leaders and map options, this game triggers my imagination and strategies I want to try out. I have spent so so many hours on this mod and I still love it and come back to it.

This has to be the most disappointing game mod in history. After a lot of faffing about - disabling DLC's/Mods and following the instructions above several times, I finally get to play ONE game...
Save the game...
Next day, flash up the game, expecting to proceed with the war in Europe, but promptly get a Runtime Error which INFURIATINGLY shuts the game down. EIGHT friggin times I attempted to reload not just the last saved game, but earlier autosaves... Sometimes the UI informed me that 'Some DLC's are not required' (so highlighted in Main Menu), for nearly two hours I've been trying to load that saved game, to no avail.

I give up. Why have the makers of this mod forsaken the game? Why has it not been updated? WHY IS Sid Meier's Civs V so bloody slow to load and cause so much 'Not Responding' BS???

Shame this was never made for a multiplayer game :/ otherwise its brilliant!

land units cant go in the water

Air units are extremely under powered as well a submarines. It shouldn't take 6 submarines to sink 1 battleship or cruiser. Otherwise a good mod but the balance is all screwed up when it comes to units... Subs, anti aircraft, and tank destroying aircraft are practically useless.

This is by far the best Mod i have played for Civ V. In fact, as a stand-alone WWII game it is one of the best i have ever played. I absolutely love it! Excellent map, excellent gameplay, and nice, authentic units. The AI acts like an AI, but it is reasonably challenging.
I only wish there were more scenarios. I am happy with the existing map, i just wish there were some setups that started later in the war. For instance, having a starting position just before the Germans declare war on Russia. This scenario would be very interesting for someone playing Russia or for someone playing a secondary country, like Italy.
I am not a developer, but if someone could release a couple more scenarios with the same units, maps, but starting positions updated for a time period later in the war, i would greatly appreciate it!

Does it still work ? One of the best mod ! (though I never could finish since it always crashed and couldn't load my save :( ) Especially naval units, which you can't one-shot and stacking of a melee+arty that are used in both attack&defense ! really good that such thing was made into a BNW mod :) (I always wanted a way to cheat and get workers as USSR :p but it would be too easy for logistic then with all the railway set

This mod is amazing, really well crafted. It turns the city building, improvement focused game of Civilization into a complex WWII war strategy epic. The units are perfect, the map pretty good, and the logistics, supply line and manpower system perfectly done. I've sunk the Hood, King George V, the Queen Elizabeth and all their support cruisers, wiping out the British navy in the Atlantic. I'm debating whether I should send my navy down into the Mediterranean to aid by struggling Italian allies or if I should continue to blockade Britain's convoys from the US.
A few bugs, like how the data folder for the mod didnt show up until step 2 of the topic on the issue, that was a pain. Also every time I exit Civ 5 in the mod I have to manually close Steam with my Task Manager or else the computer still thinks the game is running. A few freezes for a couple seconds and the turns are really long but eh its a huge overhaul mod what do you expect.

This may be the best ww2 mod civ has ever had!
I have a bug though, where cities cannot build more than one type of factory. Specifically, they can only have one of: small air factory, large air factory, and land factory. This has the awkward result that you can't build bombers and fighters in the same city. I looked in the xml for a way to fix this, but apparently the cause isn't in xml buildings file. :( Anyone have a fix?

there's a lot to like about this, but also some things that really bother me. Germany is a joke, they're far too easy to win with, even on deity. It's also kind of strange that operation Seeloewe is an option when it was never launched during the war.

If it weren't for them and the Soviet Union there would be no jews in europe, as well as many countries not existing. @LavaGamezZ You are aware the untied states joined the war effort in 41, two years after the war in Europe began right? Germany did not surrender until May of 45. I think you may have accidentally mistakenly thought of the first world war when you said that we were not involved. The USA was heavily involved in the Second World War on both the German and Japaneses fronts. We were in the Mediterranean Theater as early as 42 (Algeria-French Moroccan Campaign in 42 if I'm recalling it correctly).

So I was just looking thru the comments and someone said, “where is the USA?”
Dear whoever said this, USA did 0 thing in the war until finally at the end they got off their ass threw a nuke at Japan, ending the war. If USA was there, it would be pretty god dang boring.
