I think it didn't work for me because I already had done the quest to get the ebony blade.

If you -- someone who's over-shadowed by the multiple people who beat you too the punch by fixing ebony blade, attempted to decrease the size of the blade along with making it one handed, I guarantee you'd be much more popular than anyone else who's done work on the ebony blade.
『₮empuƦa』 May 21, 2014 @ 3:46am
It was originally a one handed weapon -- leave it to bethesda, even forgetting to include goldbrand, eltonbrand, etc etc, and a few other weapons
Is this version of the weapon the same length as the big version? If it's not can someone let me know? because I'd like a normal sized one handed ebony blade, you know, kinda like the ORIGINAL EBONY BLADE? How it looked like a badass Green jade with black silk hand wrapping and a golden/jetblack hilt / hand guard in Oblivion?
Surely you guys remember the original size of the ebony blade.

Is there a way you can make the size of the ebony blade the same size as the blades katana? It would look amazing as a one-handed weapon if it wasn't so &^!$&^% BIG. Please, spread this around to all of the prospective "ebony blade" fans, tell them all to make their versions of ONE HANDED ebony blades also the same SIZE as a one handed weapon and not an enormous hulking piece of metal &*%t that's horribly unrealistic for ANYONE to be able to swing around easily

You should change the blade so TWO HANDED enchantments, perks and leveling work as it should of been. There are already mods for making it one handed soo... PLEASE

well i'm really clueless at coding, and never tried to do a mod actually O___o well was just proposing, as i see people are able to do crazy stuff already. so i was proposing, never know if someone able to do it just pop out and say. well that's a good idea, leave 1 minute or 2 and it's done. hope my friend just a lonely hope...
nufsty  [author] Oct 6, 2012 @ 8:53pm
Great idea, but I really have no clue how to do that. Your welcome to alter my mod if you like (if you can, I'm not sure).
Momobert Oct 6, 2012 @ 7:00pm
why not just permit endless improvement of the blade? it makes it op but lore friendly. it stays at 11 at first. but i think it gets 1 damage in more by killing a good guys, no? why not switch it just on killing anyone, the more you kill the better it gets whatever you kill. NO?
gamer_time_alex Jul 29, 2012 @ 5:36pm
Yeah, I'm not really a fan of two handed swords, but somehow this weapon got into my top five picks.
Jeff Benzos Jul 7, 2012 @ 10:18am
@bbullard0 i agree bbullard0 this weapon is obatinal way before you can reach deadric smithing, maybe base damage of glass greatsword or dwarven would be well balanced!
Fahrenheidt Jul 6, 2012 @ 12:58pm
Bit less damage and I would love to have this mod. Just to high of damage considering it's never depeleting enchantment.
Geist May 31, 2012 @ 8:45pm
I'm with the mod maker on this one, I farmed tirelessly from 1 to 20, smithing, leveling, battling just for this sword only to find out it was useless compared to my 55 damage orcish greatsword, it was dissapointing, love the mod, but in all fairness, it's overpowered, could use -20 or -30 damage, balance it a tad.
nufsty  [author] May 30, 2012 @ 9:41pm
@Einar Finally, a positive comment from someone who gets the purpose of this mod.
Einar May 30, 2012 @ 7:31pm
Hang in there Nufsty. I don't like killing nice people either. Play it the way you enjoy it. After all, it's just a game.

Disclaimer: I don't want to criticize this mod. But I just read about why the blade is supposed to be crap and want to share this knowledge with you.
Quote from TV Tropes [tvtropes.org]:
"[...] Mephala hirself tells you after enough kills that the blade has reached it's former glory, but not that it has reached it's full potential. The damning thing? Said Daedric Prince is the God of Lying and Deceit. The Ebony Blade is supposed to be this shitty and convoluted to the player in the meta. In the lore, its wielders are ultimately deceived into driving themselves insane by massacring their closest friends and relatives in a bogus attempt to make the weapon reach its "full potential"."
MagnificentMariner May 28, 2012 @ 7:26am
It's desighned to increase every time you kill a friend, so 60 is overpowered because it GAINS 30 FROM PERKS~
30 would be more appropriate.
Touch Of Colour May 27, 2012 @ 11:27pm
i think that's it doing to much damage, not 65 or like 30 or something
Galba89 May 25, 2012 @ 5:42am
i´m on that also, trying it the "right" way...
theicedevil May 24, 2012 @ 10:10pm
You don't have to remove it. Just thought I'd point out some facts to you and others before anyone decides to install this mod. I do think the mod should also be categorized as a cheat, because it kind of is when you also level up the weapon as it's intended to be in the game. BTW, I'm perfectly cool with cheating in Skyrim. It's a single player game and everyone has the right to play the game the way they want to play it. I've cheated a number of times with a couple of my characters. So I'm guilty as sin. My next play though however is no cheating.
Galba89 May 24, 2012 @ 8:02am
this game is allmost solo, so every1 can subscrip/unsubscripe what ever they want, there is no need to explain something, do as you like and respect others.

I´ll think 'bout it...
nufsty  [author] May 23, 2012 @ 3:13pm
@soldier Honestly, I have no idea. @everyone else I am fully aware that Ebony Blade is capable of being improved, but I didn't really want to kill anyone to do it. Sure, it may defeat the purpose of the weapon, but I thought it looked really cool so I made it more powerful. Thank you for your feedback. If you would like, I could remove this from the workshop so you can be happy.

Go here to read on the full functionality of the Ebony Blade.

This mod is OP. I think the moder is missing the point of the Ebony Blade's function in the game. The Ebony blade is not the typical vanilla weapon. It's designed to level up when you kill (murder) friendly NPC's and Companions. It start off with absorb health spell of 10 hp. That makes the starting max base damage of the weapon as 21. When you murder two friendly NPC's it will level up the absorb health spell by 4 points. When you betray 10 friendly NPC's it's absorb health enchantment will be reach it's maximum level of 30 hp, placing the max base damage of the EB at 41. Also, while the blade can not be tempered at a grindstone (part of the EB's lore is that it is immune to fire) it has an infinite enchantment and never has to be recharged with a soul gem. So take that into consideration befor installing this mod.
VinchenzoTheJackal & Shoon May 23, 2012 @ 3:47am
Please inform me if the Ebony Blade is still able to improve itself through its special power with this mod. I'll rate, favorite, and subscribe if someone would tell me if the Ebony Blade still works as normal.
⸸mashiemo⸸ May 23, 2012 @ 3:21am
When I have the Ebony Blade, This now does 65 base damage instead of 11?
VinchenzoTheJackal & Shoon May 22, 2012 @ 7:40pm
Does this conflict with the fact that the vanilla Ebony Blade is capable of leveling its powers and base damage? If improving the blade like this prevents the blade from leveling its self through its special power... than I'd rather have the puny blade that upgrades itself rather than a strong one that never upgrades.

Sounds good.
