Could you also do something about the Flemish culture group? Historically it makes nog sense what so ever that the Dutch speaking regions in the southern Netherlands are considered Flemish
apart from Flanders itself. The Dutch speaking part of the southern Netherlands only considered themselfs Flemish after the secession of Belgium from the Netherlands in 1830, after the end of the game. I would suggest either changing the culture to Dutch or maybe Burgundian because for instance in Brabant people still take pride in their Burgundian heritage, but this may also be a more recent thing.

Ah, that's awesome! I live in Lille (Rijsel, in Dutch) and often people and games mix up our historical borders and names.
When it was taken by France, the name changed to "french flanders". Any way to have this changed automatically when France makes it a french province?

(the current name "Nord" used currently by our government is actually historically innaccurate and is an insult to my region and its history)

Will this mod work with the Extended timeline mod at some point?

Been playing this mod, glad you didnt change the form Netherlands event. Though I might have to start another game. I don't like it when my friend, France get crushed by Burgandy and their ally Castile. At least my colonization is going ok, once I form my colonial nation in the caribian off to south africa and onto China, that is if I can ally Castile.

@rabbit 15 july 12:19 Friesland is a derivative of Frisii who were divided and conquered by Rome in 12 BC. It held more regions than around 1444. It is partly included in the Extended Timeline Mod

@ Niekboer Dutch lower Saxony isn't that weird of a name. But you could also name it Sticht, instead of Dutch Lower Saxony, after the Prince-Bishoperic of Utrecht that ruled large parts of that area for a few centuries. @Rabbit Frisia was a unified political entity in the year 700something. Called Magna Frisia, it existed for some 150 years with kings such as Redbad and Aldgisl.

With the formable nation of Frisia, however, I want to respond to the fact that it could have been possible in an alternative history. And then for Belgium, that country indeed has only existed since 1830 but in an alternative history it could have been earlier. Secondly, I know that there is a region in Germany that is called Lower Saxony. But what the eastern part of the Netherlands has in common with the region in Germany is the dialect, 'West Low German' or 'Low Saxon'. That's why I called it Dutch Lower Saxony. @ Rabbit: Thanks for your comments! I will explain why I did/will do specific things. First of all, the province of Holland was unofficially seperated between North and South. The area above Amsterdam was known as the Northern Quarter (Noorderkwartier) and everything below Amsterdam was considered as the Southern Quarter (Zuiderkwartier). For example, both parts had their own Admiralties. Moreover, the Northern Quarter was also known under the name of 'West-Friesland'. @ Rabbit: The HRE was never formed into a nation, neither scandinavia, or Bharat, or Hindustan. EU 4 is an alternate history game. So those points are invalid.

To add:
The nation of Frisia was never, ever formed. It was only a region.
And the nation of Belguim never seperated the United Provinces untill 1830, which is out of the game's ending year

Author, I see you're northerner, because of the detailed aspect of the northern dutch provinces. But as several others stated:
There was no North and South Holland, only Holland.
As for the new Area's:
The Netherland didn't have ANY area called "Lower Saxony" and the Area you describe as "Lower Saxony" is right next to the/your new provinces of Overyssel, Drenthe and Groningen, but was part of the HRE (nowadays it's in Germany).
Furthermore, the Area of "Limburg" was devided and WAY different of what it is right now (see link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limburg_(Netherlands)#History ) which would make this Area inaccurate as well.
Please get the history right when you edit and dubble check it...

Holland should remain Holland. As it was Holland and not North and South Holland. It is the reason why Holland is not a correct subsitute for The Netherlands, they are 2 different things.

I guess you know the subject quite welll... I'm currently working on a HRE overhaul (well, actually not really a overhaul, since it doesn't change the map or add provinces, but the countries), but can't find out whether Burgundian Low Countries were indeed considered PUs or owned territories. i know there was a large political autonomy, with estates having large political power, but otherwise the duchies and counties of the low countries were directly owned by the duke of burgundy, were they not ?

Could you make a mod that makes all of the burgundian vassals free aswell? It would be great!

I like the mod but the "south holland" and "north holland" provinces are historical incorrect.
Holland got split up in 2 provinces after the installment of The Kingdom of The Netherlands.

Hi! I'm not unwilling to do an Europe overhaul but it will take a lot of time since I''m not that experienced with modding. Also, I know a lot about the history of the Low Countries so it's easier to do. I can do certain parts of Europe if you have certain wishes like Iberia or the Balkans. But the you have to help me with the historical accuracy ;)

Have you considered making unique ideas for the Dutch/Flemish nations? The only nation with unique ideas is Holland and I would really like to see some more flavour in the Low Countries. Anyway great mod! :D
