I wish this was compatible with any weapon reforging mods...
Snowfall Jun 18, 2014 @ 1:39pm
Combine this mod with the Blood Dragon Plate armor mod for Skyrim and you're set. :D
Ronin_735 Feb 27, 2013 @ 10:26am
could you make a mod that places one-handed swords on your back?
Jazz Jul 28, 2012 @ 12:58pm
Awesome, love this sword in Origins
Rand0mNumbers  [author] Jun 20, 2012 @ 8:03pm
Awesome.
Iain of Ivarstead Jun 20, 2012 @ 7:45pm
Thanks, great looking sword. I gave one to Lydia for a wedding present.

SquishyMage May 30, 2012 @ 1:45pm
I was actually hoping for the numerical values.
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 30, 2012 @ 1:44pm
Pretty much what it says in the description. Do you mean exact values straight from the Creation Kit?
SquishyMage May 30, 2012 @ 8:29am
how do these stats compare to things like daedric swords?
Corgi May 26, 2012 @ 7:43pm
Love DAO Love this mod thank u for it
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 22, 2012 @ 10:48am
I decided on Orcish because of the Orichalcum Ingot. Sure, Orcish weaponry is crude, but to get there one must have Dwarven Smithing. So, you have refinement from Dwarven and the material know-how from Orcish.

Following my logic for requiring Orcish smthing, I suppose I should have added Glass due to the Malachite.
Arnkell May 22, 2012 @ 3:59am
My favorite sword from Dragon Age, kudos to you for making it. My dual-wielding Warden used Starfang and the Keening Blade, same model.

Just curious, what was your reasoning for choosing Orcish Smithing for Starfang? Skyrim-Orcish design philosophy is crude and makeshift at best, surely the dwemer would be more likely to harness and perfect space ore weaponry? Wouldn't think the orcs would know what to do with malachite, either. "Green glass keep exploding under my making-hammer! GRRR!"
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 21, 2012 @ 6:41pm
Sweet. Thank you!
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 20, 2012 @ 2:46am
I chose iron ore because of the similarity between the rarity of the DA:O primary crafting material for this sword and the rarity of iron meteorites in real life.
alenha May 19, 2012 @ 8:09pm
Too complicated!!!
Autistic License May 19, 2012 @ 5:02pm
This has probably been said before, but wouldn't moonstone ore fit "space" better than iron ore?
wurblewind May 19, 2012 @ 7:12am
Derp, found it, nvm. :P
wurblewind May 19, 2012 @ 6:42am
Awesomeness.
As a humble request, can you also throw together the greatsword version? I think it would look epic using this color scheme, and it's the version I used most anyway. :P
Mvisk May 19, 2012 @ 6:18am
oh thanks
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 18, 2012 @ 7:56pm
You craft it. Under Orcish.
Mvisk May 18, 2012 @ 1:41pm
wait where do find it?
Sauce May 18, 2012 @ 12:49pm
yes. yes i am.
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 18, 2012 @ 10:44am
Please reread the first 4 sentences of my description and the notes on your own linked page. You're stuck in the lore aspect of the weapon. I'm talking meshes and materials.
Sauce May 18, 2012 @ 3:20am
i have personally put in more than 300 hours on both so i think i know my fav weapon when i see it + the wiki says http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Starfang_(longsword)
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 18, 2012 @ 3:18am
The model and material are in 2. http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Perrin%27s_Nail
The material was modified to have more of a contrast. Hence 'clone'
Sauce May 18, 2012 @ 3:16am
its in origins rather than 2
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 18, 2012 @ 3:12am
What?
Sauce May 18, 2012 @ 3:11am
you mean dragon age:origins
Lindenmooch May 16, 2012 @ 11:49am
Hmm. Ok fair enough. I haven't tried the categorized favorites menu yet...but I am running SkyUI. Regardless.....the Starfang is a VERY nice sword, and will remain in my game. Thanks for your hard work!
Foxd1e May 16, 2012 @ 6:16am
Aria is saying that it's too expensive to make and too complicated. Lots of different ingots required, and perks, and running around. But i understand as it's on par with Daedric.
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 16, 2012 @ 1:29am
Lindenmooch: I'm not getting the bug.
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 16, 2012 @ 12:47am
Aria: What do you mean exactly? You get a performance hit and making a weapon is difficult?
Aria May 16, 2012 @ 12:27am
It's a nice sword!
However, the production is too expensive and too complicated
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 16, 2012 @ 12:16am
I don't really have any pointers. My introduction to 3ds Max consisted of diving in, getting lost, and learning basic viewport navigation. After that, I just did websearches for tutorials. There might be a few tutorial playlists on YouTube.
Brithael138 May 15, 2012 @ 11:37pm
I use maya.. and just signed up for this so can anyone direct me to a place to learn more about making objects ??
takewolf May 15, 2012 @ 11:07pm
its a good mod but it will be better if it had armour
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 15, 2012 @ 9:59pm
Lindenmooch: I haven't experience that bug. Then again, I have SkyUI and a modded favorites menu. I'll run a test with those mods disabled in a bit (unless someone else confirms the bug before then).
caldargo May 15, 2012 @ 9:56pm
Will you be putting this up on Nexus I hope so because every time I subscibe to some thing on steam my game starts CTDs. Great job looks awesome.
Lindenmooch May 15, 2012 @ 9:46pm
Don't know if it was mentioned yet.....but there is an issue when you favorite this weapon....you cannot equip two of them to dual wield from the favorites menu. Or at least I can't. =P
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 15, 2012 @ 9:40pm
Just to clarify, I'm not making that armor. At least, not yet. The screenshot was merely of my first time rigging something...and J'zargo with an icespike through his head made me chuckle.
anvil2011 May 15, 2012 @ 9:21pm
This is what I love...weapons you can craft that you actually need to earn some harder to find stuff to make the thing with.
Unknown1534 May 15, 2012 @ 9:07pm
well i only say Maric's Blade because that and Starfang were my wepon combo in dragon age haha..i just think it would be AWESOME! aha
verdigris May 15, 2012 @ 9:03pm
ooo thank you. you are quickly becoming one of my favorite modders
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 15, 2012 @ 8:53pm
I haven't tried making armor, yet. I did spend a few weeks rigging DA2 models to Skyrim's skeleton (on my blog), but that was a real pain since I had no idea what I was doing.

Cody: I was trying to decide between Maric's Blade and Dwyn's Sword. :P It's just a retexture for both. Then there's the actual Starfang from DAO. This one is based on Perrin's Nail because of that contrast I mentioned (DA:O Starfangs are silver).
spencerleroy88 May 15, 2012 @ 7:59pm
a real challenge would be to do engra deathsword's sword from warhammer :)
DigiAkuma May 15, 2012 @ 6:58pm
Or Kirkwall Champion Armor for each class maybe?
Unknown1534 May 15, 2012 @ 6:56pm
Maybe Maric's Blade should be the next one! haha just a suggestion
DigiAkuma May 15, 2012 @ 5:37pm
THANK U! THANK U! THANK UUUUUUUUUUUU!
Rand0mNumbers  [author] May 15, 2012 @ 4:28pm
I'll consider it. If I do change it, I'll have to change the greatsword version as they're meant to look similar.
