@imbecilium Unfortunatly FEs get all exsistant techs at game start. This is pretty much hard coded. However this mod does include a tech that counters most of the bonuses. Weither it still works as intended is another matter. EM is sadly very dated.

'Ello ello - Lovely mod, but one question - After going into observer mode & taking a gander at a Fallen Empire, I saw that it had more than one Elite-Military bonus - IE; a Fanatic Materialist having acess to both Rift-Walker and Freelancer technology.

Was this intended, or accidental?

it is, but if you use the empire ships version, which adds new types of ships (e.g. star fighters - which u can build seperatly) bonuses/mali which are specific for ship types - like speedbuild bonus for Holy crusade for example- or rift walker costs) will not effect those ships. it is up to you how far you want to exploid that- on taht note, drop a comment in the compat topic and i may do a patch for it

Sorry guys, between graduate degree, full time job, participating in sports tournaments (racketball :D), varied interests, and the biggest time sink searching for buying a home (Finally got one yesterday!) I just haven't had any time to even touch this. Once I'm settled in my new home (starting the finalizing this week) I'll probably have more time, but my apologies for the total radio silence. Sorry for those who liked the mod but simply can't use it anymore due to instability D:

Correction to my previous post. I disabled Elite Militaries, and the crashing stopped. This mod is currently NOT compatible with the latest version of the game.

The game launcher shows this mod as being out of date. The game will boot and launch a new game with this active, but right around the time one of these techs might pop up, it starts to crash to desktop, a lot. I have no idea if it's this mod that is causing it (in all likelihood it's some other mod). That said, I would feel a lot more certain if this mod were certified for the latest game update.

All it took was for me to make that post. The first tech showed up after like year 33, lol. I may end up rolling back though because I ran across another race that had a tech that added like 270% hull points? Wow...

Since the EMs are social techs the year they show up in may vary a bit. If you have a Fanatic ethic the earliest year a EM will come up to be researched is year 20, but since your research won't always be finished exactly in that year and some other factors come into play to determine which sciences come up after the current research is done you shouldn't worry if year 20 isn't your first visit of an EM tech.

Just play a while longer and see if an EM shows up after one or two more finished projects. Depending on how you play, how fast your research is and what EM you are looking for in particular it may take untill year 30 or 40 for the right EM to show up. So hang in there, the mod is working with the current version. :)

Hello all, thanks for making this mod! However, after starting a brand new game before even trying this mod, it doesn't seem to be working for me after 20 years. I'm in year 22 when I noticed I never got the notification about EM? Is there a certain tech that has to be researched first?

you might want to check in to the weapon strength calculations as well, currently if you use some other mods like NSC the fleet power calculation just breaks with high tier weapons

I've seen a number of AIs with the techs in my game, specifically Space Pace Pirate and Hive Fleet.

the AI doesn't research the techs, and even if you research it for them they don't use the policies... pretty much unusable atm as you completely steamroll the AI with the techs, great for MP tho

Well, it seems the porblem I encoutered originated on my end of the line. I played a new game until year 2280 now and have complete the rift masters tech by now. So it seems fixed and the only thing I can imagine to be the cause of my earlier problem is a conflict between some of the mods I run.
I will let you know if I can figure out which mods were in conflict or if I encounter a similar problem in the future.
