Is there a way to make them hidden until the system is scanned/surveyed??

Please update for 2.3

Thanks.

Love the mod, but take your time. :squirtyay:

Thanks! The good news is that I'm taking the entire week off after Easter, it's been crazy and now I have to use the last of my vacation time so I don't lose it so I'm not really doing anything, just a week off. I'll make sure I fix my mods before I start playing with all the new stuff in Utopia though otherwise a week may not be enough time :)

@EvilVictor: Hey, no worries! You made this mod for free, take your time!
EvilVictor  [author] Apr 8, 2017 @ 6:04pm
I probably won't have time to do anything for about another week unless things quiet down sooner, sorry about that.
Gerishnakov Apr 8, 2017 @ 8:22am
@QC I also have this issue in 1.5. We'll just have to wait for it to be updated.
qc Apr 7, 2017 @ 9:57am
This mod unfortunately doesn't seem to work on Banks 1.5. I just tried it and it seems that /all/ hyperlanes were hidden, not just the ones outside the border. :( any fix?

Wonderful mod. I always hated playing with hyperlanes given the way everything was drawn out. This combined with Icognito Icognita is a definite score all-around.

Like @SS-Captain Lurmey was reporting, I had the issue where everyone appeared to have closed borders. Looks like the 00_map_modes file switches some things around (and is missing a 'g' in two instances of 'aggression') which was causing the issue. I took the default file in the Stellaris folder and changed the 'enable_terra_incognita = no' portions and it seems to work fine now.

Was this still using an outdated 00_map_mods file as the base? The one in my Stellaris directory states Oct 20th as the creation date.

nice, should be in vanilla game!
Gerishnakov Jan 4, 2017 @ 10:30am
@SS-Captian Lurmey I don't have that problem with this mod at all.
Lurmey Jan 4, 2017 @ 6:53am
Just did another test with only this mod enabled and in a new game. Still appears as closed borders, so it can't be an incompatibility with any other mod I had installed. It's only a cosmetic bug - I'm still able to enter their borders, but it is still kind of annoying. (Seems to be replacing the "independent" diplomatic state with "closed borders to x")
Lurmey Jan 4, 2017 @ 6:42am
I've done some troubleshooting and found that this mod seems to cause all known empires in the galaxy view to appear as if they've closed borders when using the diplomatic map mode. This is clearly a bug, neither of the two I've met have actually closed borders with me.

Not with a mod, or at least not in a way I could figure out. The only data I have available in the shader that I used for this mod is the fog of war. I didn't see anyway to enable or disable individual lanes based on things like visited or surveyed systems.
TsuChi Oct 15, 2016 @ 7:59am
is it possible to hide (visually) all hyperlanes (and never show it to a player) on a map but present to a player some hyperlanes (hardcoded by stars ID on both ends) ?
EvilVictor  [author] Jul 21, 2016 @ 4:16pm
So apparently the map modes not having the fog of war was intended, I found the setting by accident while looking for something else. This extends the change out beyond being a simple graphics changes and requires a modification to 00_map_modes.txt in common/mapmodes so I'll probably release that as a seperate mod.
EvilVictor  [author] Jul 5, 2016 @ 7:16pm
It's a shader file in the gfx/FX directory so it should be ironman & achievement friendly. I can't confirm that though, I use too many mods, sorry.
tilarium Jul 5, 2016 @ 4:02pm
Anyone know if this effects achievements? This is one of the things that really bugs me about the game and keeps me from using hyperlanes.
EvilVictor  [author] Jun 29, 2016 @ 5:19pm
Yeah, it looks like a bug since it defeats the purpose of having the fog of ware entirely. I was going to poke around in the shader changes they made with the map modes to see if it's something I can fix but real life keeps getting in the way :)
Gerishnakov Jun 29, 2016 @ 3:00am
@FireWood the new map modes seem to me to remove the fog of war entirely, albeit temporarily.
Something Different Jun 28, 2016 @ 9:39pm
hyperlanes are visible in the different galaxy map modes they added in asimov.
EvilVictor  [author] Jun 27, 2016 @ 7:37am
"Updated" for 1.2, nothing changed
Zachita Jun 16, 2016 @ 4:17pm
I like this change. I feel like it gives an advantage to the ai, since they can see and know all and this hides more from the player, but I like it.

It's a little closer to how the map worked in the Escape Velocity series.
Pille Jun 16, 2016 @ 3:10pm
Are hyperlanes invisible until you survey the system? Does receiving star charts from an AI also reveal the hyperlanes they know about?
Vyndicu Jun 13, 2016 @ 10:53pm
I like this concept as well. Hopefully they will put this as part of baseline game eventually.
EvilVictor  [author] Jun 13, 2016 @ 5:42pm
Yeah it would be nice if they'd add it with proper support. I like the effect a lot and only wish it was more than a quick shader trick. Things like hiding the lane until you at least visit the system would be a much nicer way to do this, or require surveying the system for the really hardcore people :)
NakedFury Jun 13, 2016 @ 5:32pm
This is something that I would also like to be an official part of the game. A small enough change but it changes the game in a big way. Makes exploration more exciting than usual.:steamhappy:
EvilVictor  [author] Jun 11, 2016 @ 3:46pm
No problem guys :)
Novantis Jun 11, 2016 @ 5:17am
Thanks a lot! Looks great!
Gerishnakov Jun 11, 2016 @ 3:21am
So much yes!
