It diden't work
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Mar 18 @ 6:16am
@vitek2606 what doesn't work? I haven't tried it recently, but the type of updates they've been doing shouldn't affect it.
Vitek2606 Mar 17 @ 10:49pm
this is not working

I guess I will find out when I get one! Thank you very much!

@Jeremiah I haven't had much interest in playing CSL1 since I tried the road tools from CSL2. I don't know what aspects of the game appear to you to know what you will or won't like about vanilla CSL2 or modded CSL2.
Jeremiah Feb 14 @ 6:47pm
[SSU]yenyang what can you say about CS2 now? Is it getting better over CS1? I still see a lot of negative comments about CS2 that is why I still do not get it.
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Feb 13 @ 8:43pm
@Jeremiah It's kind of a chore. . . I spend my time modding on Cities Skylines II. I've been very active at that for more than a year and a half. I don't have CS1 installed on my pc. . .
Jeremiah Feb 13 @ 7:47am
@[SSU]yenyang thank you very much for your response! Glad to see you're still active for replies on Cities: Skylines. Are you still planning to rebuild and patch it?
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Feb 12 @ 5:39pm
@Jeremiah It worked as of 9/14/2023 and the game has not had not had any functional updates since then. The only game updates have been additional content which shouldn't affect the mod's functionality, but the game does state that it's out-of-date since I haven't rebuilt the mod and uploaded a patch.
Jeremiah Feb 11 @ 1:03am
What is the current status of this Mod. Is it properly working? and are all the dependencies currently okay?
damo563 Dec 1, 2024 @ 4:02am
yay now i can make a large volcano full of water and kill millions of people:steamhappy:
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Sep 27, 2024 @ 7:07pm
@saku Oh you're so kind. Yea it would be cool to make this for CSL2 someday. For now, Water Features has seasonal streams which is a bit of a Rainfall lite. :)
saku Sep 27, 2024 @ 10:26am
i still love and use this mod, i hope to see something similar in CSL2 whenever I pick it up!
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Jun 14, 2024 @ 3:40pm
@Darth_Jimbo, I feel like the mod has always had situations where water builds up between buildings and so yea it makes sense that those would be affected. There's an other category in the runoff coefficients. Can you set that to 0 and see if that covers your situation?

I am not really developing this mod anymore. I am developing mods for CSL2.
Darth_Jimbo Jun 5, 2024 @ 1:02am
@[SSU]yenyang Hello, got some spare time right now and came back to this mod here. After the update the weather simulation seems to work fine in the first hours. Now there's another issue that needs to be addressed. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3261530171 In the screenshot you can see that water glitch. It's everywhere where I have these terrain conforming rock "buildings". The water builds up during rain and never leaves until I move something. Water even builds up when all building runoff modificators are set to 0. Maybe those "landscaping" buildings need their own runoff mod. or you exclude them from runoff simulation. Maybe you can look into that. Thanks
garyfortolano63 Apr 21, 2024 @ 5:22pm
wow...how totally badass and exciting.
StayHungryStayFoolish Mar 15, 2024 @ 1:21pm
Rainfall gives me a simulation error using Hubs & Transport compatible modlist. I have switched off Rainfall and the simulation error is gone. I bet this is due to other mods updated recently.
Banter Feb 1, 2024 @ 12:04pm
So the rain barely builds up, it creates a few small pockets at most
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Nov 10, 2023 @ 8:13am
@MrTronik I'm glad you got it working. Although I think you will need small decal drains. If anything I'd check to make sure you don't have "Decal Prop Fix (deprecated)". Prop Control has the same updated functionality.

I would argue storm drains would be a good addition to both base games. Runoff is not for everyone.
MrTronik Nov 9, 2023 @ 11:35pm
this is something that should have been in the base game. albeit i had a small problem getting this one to work at all, it kept throwing a null error, something about an object not being set to something. so i unsubbed from the main and requirements, ran the game, then resubbed to the main and requirements except small decal drains, and launched then somehow, it was working.
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Sep 14, 2023 @ 9:28am
Oh with Sully's Water drain pipe you will want to use Move It! to get it in a desirable position.

Update Rolling out!
Change Notes below:
V2.15.0.5
-Added option for preventing deletion of dams on GEN2 tab.
-Added Sully's Water Drain pipe as SD Outlet with option to disable on GEN2 tab.
-Added Reset Weather button to GEN2 tab.
-Added extra code to try and keep Rain values between 0 and 1.

@Darth_Jimbo I hope this helps out your save.
StayHungryStayFoolish Sep 5, 2023 @ 12:13am
I figured out, that after using EML Removal mod, I had to switch off Rainfall due to a Simulation error. After running the game a couple of times I have switched back Rainfall and it is working just fine.
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Sep 4, 2023 @ 12:03pm
@guevara.jim8 You have a setting that is preventing rain from occurring before Milestone 3. you either need to get to Milestone 3 or turn off that setting.
@Darth_Jimbo I'll try to add something in a little while and see if that improves your situation.
Alacarte Sep 3, 2023 @ 4:52pm
It's not Raining it keeps saying Make it Rain Failed
Darth_Jimbo Aug 30, 2023 @ 10:22am
@[SSU]yenyang I don't know what's going on either. I'm unable to reproduce the issue in a new map or any other save except my main one. Tried different themes, maps, cities. Is there a way to reset the weather cycle?
And yes, an option for those water sources would be nice I think. Because maybe sometimes the game does things and then you should be able to delete them anyway.
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Aug 23, 2023 @ 4:56pm
@Darth_Jimbo I don't know what's happening with the RealTime mod. I found something I could change in Rainfall that might make what you are describing less likely to happen, but I haven't been able to repeat your problem after some short tests, so I don't know if its necessary or not. It seems like a good idea so I'll probably add it in. If you can get me more test information when later that would be great. Preventing dam water sources from being removed is something I could easily do. Do you think I should add an option so you can do it if you want to, but by default you can't?
Darth_Jimbo Aug 22, 2023 @ 2:21am
Have to revert my last message. First: I messed up my dam by misclicking water sources and flooded my city xD. Maybe you can make them untouchable. Second: The weird behaviour is still there. When Rainfall wants to start a storm, it starts to spam chirper messages. That's because m_currentRain starts to go up, goes to zero, goes up again and the rain never starts UNTIL the storm is supposed to stop (m_targetRain=0) then it starts to go up and didn't stop. This also happens when clicking the Make It Rain button AND the End Storm button does not stop it. I did some tests and found that this could be a compatibility problem with RealTime mod. Maybe they collide with eachother because they both want to change the weather system. In a short test this issue did not occur without RealTime in a new map. I can do further tests next week after Gamescom. Until then I'll put the mod on halt.
StayHungryStayFoolish Aug 22, 2023 @ 12:06am
I had to switch off Rainfall due to a Simulation error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at Rainfall.BuildingManagerRemoveFromGridPatch.Postfix (uint16,Building&)

I would not copy here the entire error message. Did you have a similar issue?
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Aug 3, 2023 @ 12:47pm
@Darth_Jimbo Thanks for letting us know. End Storm button in RMV tab might work just as well.
Darth_Jimbo Aug 3, 2023 @ 11:42am
Thanks for the update. At first there was still weird behaviour. So remember folks, when you load a save with an ongoing storm / rain, you have to reset the rain cycle once by turning dynamic weather off and on again in your game options. After that all worked perfectly fine.

Update Rolling out!
-V2.14
1. Fixed critical issues with m_currentRain while paused.
2. Added extra precautions to limit m_CurrentRain to 0<=X<=1

Special thanks to Darth_Jimbo for providing excellent error testing and reporting it.
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Aug 2, 2023 @ 7:34pm
@Darth_Jimbo I think I've figured out how to fix it. I'm trying to get my mods sorted out so I can test it. Might be ready tomorrow or the next day. probably soon.
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Aug 2, 2023 @ 7:28am
@Darth_Jimbo Thanks for the information. It sounds like it will be easy to fix. Just need a little time to investigate, and make the changes.
Darth_Jimbo Aug 2, 2023 @ 4:57am
@[SSU]yenyang Just found out that this also happens the other way round. When rainfall rises and you pause the game for too long then m_currentRain eventually goes negative. This also is causing weird glitches.
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Aug 1, 2023 @ 9:00am
@Darth_Jimbo Thanks for looking into it in so much detail. I will definitely investigate the m_currentRain value rising while paused. I don't know if that will fix the other issues. Older versions of Rainfall used to allow for currentRain values that high but the current version is not supposed to do that. Please let me know if you come across any more information. Thanks.
Darth_Jimbo Aug 1, 2023 @ 7:23am
I may found the reason for the flickering issue which was reported by some players and the problem that vanilla thunderstorms (not those from Disasters DLC) will break and never occur again which I was encountering in two of my saves: When the amount of rainfall is getting weaker and you pause the game, the amount of rainfall will go higher. You can watch the value rise looking at the weather manager values with Mod-Tools. Eventually m_currentRain will exceed the default limit of 1 (I already had values like 24 after the game was paused for a few hours). I believe that this breaks the weather simulation and the rain overlay. Maybe you can have a look at this. I will try to make a video of the problem later.

Happy to report that my issues with RainFall are now fixed. yenyang is awesome for working on it so quickly and getting a fix out. Would highly recommend checking out the mod, it's a great gameplay addition and seeing how active the dev is is great!

@TitanGod_ I found where in the code the problem is. I could easily put things back to a way they worked before. I might mess up something somebody asked for in February, but if it's breaking the game then it needs to go. Depending no how much time I spend on it, I could maybe come up with a better solution. Short term, in a couple of days, hopefully I can upload a patch that puts things back the way they were before I added this problematic code.
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Jul 19, 2023 @ 9:19am
@TitanGod_ Thank you. I will look into the issue more. I will need time. Maybe if I can't figure out the root cause, I could at least make the save recoverable.
TitanGod_ Jul 18, 2023 @ 4:18pm
@[SSU]yenyang I appreciate the reply. I made a thread about the issue in the CS discord. All the log files are available if you want to take a look:

@TitanGod_ If you want to share the full log file somewhere that I could download it and take a look, I will do so. Please make sure the mod is enabled and that you're subscribed to the correct version of Harmony.
TitanGod_ Jul 17, 2023 @ 5:10pm
This mod is broken, use at your own risk. Worked fine but after I saved the game and went to play the next day the simulation would freeze right after I unpaused and game would no longer react. It bricked my save and can't be removed since neither the mod itself (followed removal guide), bulldoze or move it are able to remove remaining flood spawners. The game won't load with the mod removed since these flood spawners weren't removed.

Simulation error: Array index is out of range.

No, I rather thought about something functional that can deliver power on demand (or just add an alternative to the vanilla dam).
A cosmetic dam could be built using inlets on the water level that should be kept, and an outlet at the outflow. I havent tried it yet though.
[SSU]yenyang  [author] Jul 14, 2023 @ 9:09am
@christianmc1101 No i don't have plans to do that. Have you experimented with using storm drains and the vanilla dam?
christianmc1101 Jul 14, 2023 @ 12:23am
Do you plan to use the storm drain system to make a custom hydroelectric power plant mod? Maybe even with adjustable production and pump storage ability?
