I just recognised these assets won't work on canals. Is this right? On the sea/river it works fine. But on the canals it hovers above the water and even with moveIt I cant drop it down. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Just tested... Your version works fine. I had removed it from my Beach collection, but i'll reinclude it in there with a note about the default asset. The default version in more beautification definitely needs to be disabled.

So, from reading the description, I understand that theses are the default boats which would explain why they are showing in more beautification. I do not subscribe to this pack. You should disable the default version of theses in more beautification. They are causing errors. I can plop them fine, but as soon as I zoom out enough to trigger the LOD, I get pestered by error message. Forum evidence from Steam, Reddit and other sources lead me to beleive that theses have been broken for more than a year. CO needs to be made aware of this. The problem is on their side, but in the meantime, disabling them is the easiest fix.

Am I the only one who's having an issue with lods?
If I get too close. the boats desappear, and the same happens (more understandable) when I get too far with the camera... Is there any settings I can tweak?

This Script for ModTools by boformer was the critical hint to me.
Use it to change the Prop shader to ("Custom/Props/Prop/Floating")

I love this boat pack! Thank you so much! But I can't get my own water props to act like yours. It would be awesome if somebody could make a step-by-step guide on how to make these assets. I'd like to make a few more boats (sailing boats in particular), navigation marks and bouys.

@Skiqper That happens because the 'wraper' building keeps the reference to your local prop. What you need to do is to publish the empty wrapper and the prop to workshop, then subscribe to your workshop version, and place the workshop prop in workshop wrapper and then update your asset. Don't forget that your edited asset gets saved to the local asset directory and you have to copy it to the workshop folder of your asset before updating.

Pity it's limited though, I'd have loved to put large floating ships in my harbour.
The prop ones found in the workshop all create a glitch when plopped: The water "disappears" under the boat and on the side close to a quay + they sometimes "float" well above the water level.

@Skiqper @HamsterVolant That requires changing prop's material's shader with ModTools and setting require surface map and require water map properties of PropInfo. Then, each prop must be 'wrapped' with an empty 1x1 decorative building.
I experimented with large vessels but I don't recommend making them as props. Because 1) without my adaptive visibility distance mod they will simpy disappear on distance 2) because bobbing amount doesn't decrease with size and bobbing amount would be too much (will look unrealistic)

@BloodyPenguin No, I can get to select those boats... they're floating away from the marna, in the bay, but they are placed akwardly and want to move them, change them, but I can get to select them when overing on the boats or even around, as if the selecting tag was far below water. Even when looking down I can get to select them... so I have a bunch of boats partying in the bay... Coast Guards don't like that :steammocking:

@Andy.P-UK-1980 @Aktarus I can do nothing about that. These assets can't cause that for sure. Boat props are part of After Dark and I only made 'parks' that have them inside. Nothing that can cause hovering/floating issues. Menu dissapearance is certainly not those assets issue because they are passive and it's most likely some mod that causes it or you simply disabled some of those boats in content manager.

I have the same problem as Aktarus, the boats have disappeared from the menu bar and i only see the houseboat, plus the boats i placed previously have gone back to floating in the air above the water, not sure whats going on.

Wow. Finally boats from Ctities in Motion in C:S. I really wanted them in this game. And the better thing is that they can float, which is super cool. Love this.
