@kinngrimm you have to create a mod for that. go to stellaris/common/solar_system_initializer copy the origin you want and then define neighbor_system you have to search for the ids of the systems you want example:
neighbor_system = {
trigger = { always = yes }
hyperlane_jumps = { min = 1 max = 2 }
initializer = "distantstars_init_00"
distance = { min = 0 max = 60 }
}
spawns an l-gate system. you can use ai to help you write the code and proofread it
kinngrimm Jun 3, 2024 @ 2:23am
ok, thx anyways :)
flogi  [author] Jun 2, 2024 @ 12:18pm
@kinngrimm: I dont think theres a way.
kinngrimm May 31, 2024 @ 2:44am
Is there a way to have certain systems spawn close by, next to once starting system?
I intend to play as void dweller and game does not allow me to grab a modded system as starting system only 2 void systems i can choose from.
Dispesys Nov 18, 2023 @ 2:59pm
I did
flogi  [author] Nov 18, 2023 @ 2:58pm
Have you checked? It should still work.
Dispesys Nov 18, 2023 @ 9:26am
update please to 3.10
Phelan Jun 18, 2023 @ 3:46am
Can you update for actual game version pls? Looks a little scary with the "incompatible" warning :)
Linkraven Apr 27, 2023 @ 6:08am
I think I managed to somehow make it work? I'm using your mod for the larger galaxy option in conjunction with the no clustered start mod and empires seem far more evenly spread out.

load order is your mod and then the mod below.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=687226658&searchtext=no+clustered+start

Hope that helps anyone else who has issues.
flogi  [author] Apr 27, 2023 @ 2:33am
Sometimes the number of Fallen Empires can mess with the distribution. It could depend on the number of AI Empires you chose.
Linkraven Apr 26, 2023 @ 3:09pm
I've tried both the galaxy set to balanced 1500 cluster and random but many empires are spawning far closer than they should compared to what I see in your screenshots. I don't think I'm using any conflicting mod that affects the galaxy. Can you give some tips on load order and galaxy settings?
flogi  [author] Apr 19, 2023 @ 3:10am
It should work regardless of being shown as outdated.
Linkraven Apr 18, 2023 @ 5:11am
Any chance for update?
kinngrimm Oct 15, 2021 @ 11:50am
ok ty
flogi  [author] Oct 15, 2021 @ 7:48am
Hmn, I'm not sure. In theory this should not interfere with close by planets.
kinngrimm Oct 13, 2021 @ 11:48am
Out of curiosity, the guranteed 0-2 planets within close proximity to our starting systems from the settings on game start, are these correctly placed closeby?

I am currently looking for a mod which does that including what your mod does =)
flogi  [author] Jun 22, 2021 @ 2:27pm
@robertfun1: Its updated now, but I did not really need to change much. Looks like it still works fine.
robertfun1 Jun 9, 2021 @ 5:33am
Could you update this to 3.0? I think it'll work better.
Doldenberg Jan 14, 2021 @ 11:27am
Hey, I'd like to use this mod for multiplayer, but we like to use one of the scenarios with Fallen Empires and Marauders. Problem is we want to play without any normal AI Empires, but all the "singleplayer"-scenarios all have a minimum of one AI. Could you update those scenarios to have a minimum of zero AIs?
Slippery Jim Sep 6, 2020 @ 5:08pm
it correctly places them next to the empire
Slippery Jim Sep 6, 2020 @ 12:55pm
I was just curious, I'll try it out and let you know
flogi  [author] Sep 5, 2020 @ 3:22pm
Maybe I guess. Did you encounter something strange?
Slippery Jim Sep 5, 2020 @ 11:10am
Would this mod effect the Federation origins that place 2 empires in your federation in your starting planets?
无名-不讲武德 Dec 28, 2019 @ 9:50am
千星10人的也很近。这mod有用,请更新至2.5:steamhappy:
RipmaV Oct 4, 2019 @ 11:15am
My game is crashing while starting a new galaxy and this mod is enabled.
flogi  [author] Sep 20, 2019 @ 9:02am
Doesn't it work with 2.3 or is it just shown as outdatet?
RipmaV Sep 20, 2019 @ 7:55am
Will you update that it work with 2.3.*?
Razus Jun 18, 2019 @ 3:36am
@A Happy Bunny: When you create a new game you must chose clusters in the settings for Empire Placement, than it works.
I had the same problem as you for a long time. I tried this and from this time the mod works as described.
flogi  [author] Dec 26, 2018 @ 1:49pm
@A Happy Bunny: Either generation was really strange or its an odd exception cause I haven't had that when generating a world.
So without a screenshot I cannot really tell if generation did not work proerply or something like that.
A Happy Bunny Dec 26, 2018 @ 9:59am
Does this work in 2.2.2? My brother and I are playing mp, balanced medium map, 8 AI, 3 FE, and I have no one near me, and he has 6 AI empires right next to him
Buschwookie Bruno Dec 26, 2018 @ 7:16am
Okay cool, though already so but hoped it would be another issue :)
flogi  [author] Dec 22, 2018 @ 3:03pm
You actually can't do anything about spawning next to each other I think. In stellaris players get positioned closely together in the order they join the mp game, at least it was like that when the game was released. This mod does not change this, it merely distributes all empires evenly among the galaxy, the logic where players are placed is untouched.
Buschwookie Bruno Dec 22, 2018 @ 10:47am
We had choosen a balanced scenario, are AI empires and player empires treated the same and we had just bad luck that we spawned next to each other?
flogi  [author] Dec 13, 2018 @ 2:02pm
You have to choose a "balanced" scenario. It also should be noted if you pick a small galaxy with very man AI/players you might end up pretty clumped up after all. But: I think you probably not picking a "balanced" scenario is the issue here.
Buschwookie Bruno Dec 13, 2018 @ 12:49pm
Is there any special setting aside the map size you have to choose for this mod to work? We get spawned next to each other even with it :/
flogi  [author] Dec 7, 2018 @ 6:37am
No, not achievement compatible.
Vexirion Dec 7, 2018 @ 1:15am
Hi, just wondering, is this mod achievement compatible?
flogi  [author] Dec 6, 2018 @ 1:53pm
Updated for 2.2 Have fun guys.
flogi  [author] Nov 13, 2018 @ 2:10pm
Well you should make a mod folder. But this is not the place to give general mod making advice. Search the wiki or ask in the paradox forum.
Steven Nov 12, 2018 @ 11:36am
could i ask question so I am editing for example

00_defines.txt if i do not want to change every thing in it can i just edite the
part
PRESCRIPTED_PLANETS_NUM = 2
PRESCRIPTED_PLANETS_MAX_DISTANCE = 50

and then rename this moded 00_defines file to something like 06_defines would it just over write the text that was changed then and nothing elese or ? I was trying to find some videos on subject but then thought be easier just ask someone with experince and most of videos i found went into other things then what i wanted to know.
flogi  [author] Nov 12, 2018 @ 9:46am
That just sounds like the vanilla start to me. There you can start right next to fallen empires and such. What else do you want?
Steven Nov 12, 2018 @ 9:26am
its not suppose to we want one that dosnt blance it to make it truely random we want one that does oppsit of what this mod does wonder what files you edited to make your start balanced , is that galaxy generation or the system start stuff ?

we where hopping to find a mod that does like oppsit of what your mod does for our mutipayer games. Balance and same play style gets old after while and so does just knowing what is around you.
flogi  [author] Nov 12, 2018 @ 9:23am
But how does your idea balance multiplayer? I mean it seems very random. One could surely achieve it by modifying the galaxy generation in terms of whats in there. Thats not the aim of this mod though.
Steven Nov 12, 2018 @ 9:18am
nope its notthere defualt settings what planets start with and what planets appear about to give a blance feel to the game when in mutiplayer

I was kind of looking for a replacement of this mod

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=935365595&searchtext=start

this one comes close but dosnt do same stuff i guess it seems according to discription.

flogi  [author] Nov 12, 2018 @ 9:05am
Shouldn't that more or less be covered by the game options?
Steven Nov 11, 2018 @ 11:21pm
me and my friends where lokoing for one that does complete oppsit gives completly random unblanced start and provided no sure thing on amount of habbitable planets around you ?
paulo Jun 4, 2018 @ 3:16pm
Thanks.
flogi  [author] Jun 4, 2018 @ 3:14pm
Sure, if you pick one of the "Balanced" scenarios.
paulo Jun 4, 2018 @ 3:06pm
This mod works on Single Player?
flogi  [author] Jun 2, 2018 @ 7:21am
Its quite unlikely that this is ever outdatet. Thats why I'm pretty lazy when I just need to change the checksum the mod is for. Its updated now.
