For those who still play Stellaris 2.1: I created a new AI mod which is based on Glavius's work, but my mod goes much deeper and have a lot of unique features, leading to much better AI. And also I update it quite often, adding new stuff.

You can check proof of this and read detailed description here:

Thank you!

is this mod still alive?
SalzStange Feb 10, 2019 @ 7:57pm
it does not work anymore or? I restarted a new game but ya. Seems like the dev forgot to delete the outdated mod

@EyeOfError Be the change you want to see.

So, I want AI to:
1) colonise more agressivly and without limit (still spending minerals on all else, of course, just using spare minerals for colonisation)
2) attack targets of the same strenght or below that they do not like

together it will make galaxy dynamic and fun
fan_of_Daniil_Andreev Feb 23, 2018 @ 1:27am
My main problem with AI was that it sits on mineral stockpiles and does not colonise empty space except some small area while I colonise half the galaxy, invade primitives and win that way in 100 years gametime, without AI even trying to punish me for it - I had very little fleets and had like 10 borders with AI, if they attacked me same time I would crumble to my home system.

@Timsmart24 Highly unlikely, sorry.
DxdShadow Dec 9, 2017 @ 10:36pm
Can we see an update anytime soon?
Razgriz Jun 12, 2017 @ 1:56am
Hey question about your mod. Does it fix the issue of the AI not having to need the infastructure to support its fleets. quite annoying when the AI will always be able to have all these ships and other things when it clearly lacks the infastructure to support it. Does this mod fix that?

Ah.. The pain of life, allow the guy sole room to breath.

I had a tragic weekend, so I haven't had a chance to even play Utopia yet :/
No one. Apr 12, 2017 @ 9:09pm
Are you planning to update?

new expansion ??
__reth__  [author] Mar 28, 2017 @ 6:41am
Very dead mod. I burned myself out trying to keep up with the release updates and lost interest.

With the new expansion coming out, I may get back on this if there is a need for it.

dead mod by the looks of things

Is this mod still alive??

Will you be updating this mod at all in the future? I really enjoyed what your mod did to the AI, but it's been quite a while since I could use it. Thanks.
Raynor Sep 30, 2016 @ 1:24am
Is this mod still relevant?
MKGraves Sep 11, 2016 @ 10:34pm
Mod is not compatible with current version
Pocket Aug 20, 2016 @ 9:09pm
I'm not sure if it is this mod in particular but something I've used made it impossible to get into an alliance. A lot of the changes were intelligent but even while being overwhelmingly friendly I was unable to make friends. Thanks.
Rocket Aug 20, 2016 @ 3:27pm
Thank you for this mod and good luck on your future projects.
Poggle the Greater Aug 11, 2016 @ 5:42pm
Good luck reth, thanks for the amazing mod :)
Marianojoey Aug 9, 2016 @ 2:54pm
Paradox should pay you for practically saving their face on launch.

Hope you good luck on your next projects. :)

(read top to bottom)

I still have the logs from the tests I ran while preparing for the 1.2 update over there on my other computer, but I have a bad feeling that this mod was going to be worthless by 1.3 anyway due to Paradox's updates.

They are currently working on more player control in Faction and Alliance politics and giving the player the ability to give directions to Faction/Alliance members.

Since 1.2, the vanilla AI has gotten better and by turning up the AI slider a touch makes it 'comparable' to the mod's AI. The AI will continue to grow in 1.3 and future updates.
__reth__  [author] Aug 9, 2016 @ 2:40pm
When the game was launched, the AI needed a huge improvement; there were complaints almost everywhere about it. So I started doing some simple research and eventually launched this mod in hopes of making it more playable.

To continue to make the mod's AI significantly better, I have to do some serious game analysis and number crunching.

Unfortunally, I do not get paid to work on AI mods and the 'fun' is fading fast as the grind for the AI improvements and discoving new formulas is becoming significantly more difficult.
__reth__  [author] Aug 9, 2016 @ 2:40pm
The amount of free time I pour into the mod is always going to be trumped whenever an update is released. It will take me about twice as long as the last update to just catch up and readjust my current formulas to fit the direction that the devs are taking Stellaris.

If I had their codebase, it would open up all of the current hard-to-do and impossible AI tasks that I want to. There are a lot of restrictions on what a mod can actually influence and many of the important AI routines are locked in compiled code for completly reasonable performance related concerns.

This means all of the changes the mod wants to make have to be done by adjusting formula inputs via the mod files which is what makes this all difficult and not worth it to me personally to continue investing time in when I can be working on my other projects instead :steamsad:

Marianojoey Aug 9, 2016 @ 6:52am
so... did the mod die? Last update was for 1.1, and we are nearing 1.3 in a couple of weeks. It's been over a month since Reth said anything. Perhaps Paradox decided to check the AI by themselves and now the mod is unnecesary...

But I don't think so... ;)

Come on Reth, come back already or at least tell us to go search balance elsewhere. :)

Any news on a update for this mod ?
Homer_is_awesome Jul 31, 2016 @ 4:57pm
I don't know if it was just me, but in a recent game I played I managed to get a federation up, and in most of our wars I did end up having AI fleets follow my strongest fleet around. They would be a bit slow on the warp, but would usually catch up and go fight battles together with my fleet. It was pretty cool, but this only happened during war times in a federation in enemy space. So I guess the "friendly AI ships following" is already sorta in the game somehow?
여분의 솜털 Jul 22, 2016 @ 5:30am
pls update it ;)
xXMateuZXx Jul 16, 2016 @ 1:23am
will you be updating soon?
Col. Hathi Jul 8, 2016 @ 10:15pm
Thanks for the update. That's always appreciated ^^
__reth__  [author] Jul 1, 2016 @ 4:06pm
Quick update, I've been on vacation for the past week (still am). I'll be able to post an update early next week after I review replays from this week's games.
Bittersweet Jun 30, 2016 @ 9:55am
Gonna update for 1.2?
Mayoringram Jun 29, 2016 @ 4:55pm
@Kaptain Kronic I hope I'm not getting it wrong about what you said but I don't think It's a good idea to load an older game version save game, so developer kinda said. It will probably won't work as It's used to be with Asimov update.
Kaptain Kronic Jun 29, 2016 @ 2:49pm
really hoping they update this so i can load up my saved game
Anex Jun 29, 2016 @ 1:05pm
Hey everyone the mod author has been offline for a while now, may I suggest my own mod which was inspired by this mod and does all the things that this mod does and more. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=692253918

is this mod gonna be updated ?
Crytek Jun 28, 2016 @ 10:37pm
@Mora yeah lost 2 Planets in my last war against a weakened enemy. So yeah it works just fine.
Crytek Jun 28, 2016 @ 10:36pm
We need an update!
Col. Hathi Jun 28, 2016 @ 1:41pm
I have, but it was their own planet, so make of that what you will.
Mora Jun 27, 2016 @ 4:27pm
Has anyone actually seen the AI trying to take a planet by force? All I've seen them do so far is endless sightseeing tours with a doomstack.
Se - Ko Jun 27, 2016 @ 11:57am
Updated for 1.2 plz ...
nbirkelbach Jun 27, 2016 @ 8:03am
official 1.2 is up :)
CT_Marauder Jun 22, 2016 @ 1:18pm
@MASSOUND GL
I'm pretty sure what the Fallen have is what they have and will not expand nor rebuild it is a stagnet society. I've seen a couple of Chat's about it vs when major invasion events happen.
