But that is also what the debug mode is for, since you can't control when you want to become super sonic like you can in S3 onwards.

The Super Sonic cheat code only simply gives you all the emeralds, though. It doesn't actually make you start each time with 50 rings.

This is kinda redundant really since all you have to do is enter the level select code in the options sound test, then enter the super sonic code in the level select sound test. With the level select you can also enter the debug code allowing you to enter debug mode ingame.
