This mod is bugged on the 2019 Cascadia. The paintable rims completely disappear on this truck.
Pennah Meowntananana Dec 12, 2023 @ 11:41am
Not working with 1.49. Front rims disappear...
kpsingleton4 Jun 29, 2021 @ 2:11pm
Hey smarty I'm trying to use the paintable wheels instead i get an empty hole in place of the painted steel wheel. Is there any fix to it ?
Espetinho de tatuzinho Coró Dec 13, 2020 @ 2:11pm
Smarty - for some reason, the yellow dot that allows changing for all trucks' front tire disappears when using this mod

this mods stop working need help
xXCEOShooterXx May 2, 2018 @ 7:10am
maybe could you do paintable acuride 4 hole rims?
Smarty  [author] Jan 1, 2018 @ 12:29pm
FireStar is correct; The wheel tuning pack DLC does not include a paintable steel wheel variant, which is why I made this mod (or rather, why I didn't cancel it when I learned what the DLC would include). It's generally good modding ethics to not circumvent or directly compete with DLC content. :P
Fire Star Jan 1, 2018 @ 11:24am
Last i checked guy on a computer, the wheel pack does not include colorable steel wheels.
impala Nov 16, 2017 @ 10:58am
it's still cool-
impala Nov 16, 2017 @ 10:58am
It's pretty much useless now because of the new DLC, but still cool if you want to save a few dollars.
ddward1999 Sep 24, 2017 @ 7:08pm
The base wheels sucks
ddward1999 Sep 24, 2017 @ 7:07pm
Can you make the paint for the other wheels??
ddward1999 Sep 24, 2017 @ 6:42pm
Sooo how do u paint your rims????? Cause i cant find the colors for the wheels.
Deves Aug 8, 2017 @ 2:25am

Rusty nail Apr 11, 2017 @ 8:53pm
Hay how exactly did u change the wheel to alow color change I'm looking to start making mods and figured this would be a easy place to start
PF$R PEA Feb 15, 2017 @ 12:32pm

JACKO Feb 4, 2017 @ 4:01am
i love them sick
Pinhead Larry Jan 20, 2017 @ 5:23pm
Now it seems to crash on the latest update when you try to select one of the rims. :/
Johnny Mac Dec 29, 2016 @ 10:42am
YES all the way!:steamhappy:
Juvenile Collin Sep 30, 2016 @ 10:39am
@Smarty: i try to paint them but they stay white. maybe not for 1.4 game version?
99 kw Aug 23, 2016 @ 5:36pm
Thank you. Now I can put those ugly black rims on my ups truck. :-)
evilernie Jun 2, 2016 @ 4:31am
need to update had to uninstall.
J4CKI3 May 2, 2016 @ 5:54pm
Can you please do this for ETS2?
Fury6 Apr 18, 2016 @ 2:26am
@Smarty: Not for me, they start off black. If I change the mod as I suggested, then select the paintable steels, they appear normal (white). If I just use the mod as-is the steels appear black. NFI what is all going on with that but I'm not fussed either way since... well they're colourable =D.
Smarty  [author] Apr 17, 2016 @ 8:31pm
@Fury6: The way the .paint material flavour works is by multiplying the base texture with the selected colour. When the colour is white (the default) the result is identical to the original. In short, when you first select it in the store there's no need for mimicry – it is the original. ;)
Fury6 Apr 17, 2016 @ 12:34am
@Smarty: On second thoughts, I guess it doesn't really matter about the overwrite, one can always just set the colour to a level of grey that mimics the original steel rim.
Fury6 Apr 17, 2016 @ 12:20am
@Smarty: Ah, right. I'd never come across that particular bug so never occured to me it was a workaround. One thing further, the paintable wheel in the mod replaces the vanilla steel wheel from the game. I'd like to ask if you'd be willing to consider re-defining this rim as an additional unit rather than an overwrite of the default steel rim.

@chevyking_3: Smarty is correct, besides the timing there is also no paintable version of the standard steel wheel in the DLC.
Smarty  [author] Apr 16, 2016 @ 11:21am
@chevyking_3: As far as I know, the wheel DLC doesn't include a paintable version of the steel wheels. Either way, this was made weeks before the wheel DLC came out.

@Fury6: This was necessary to overcome a bug (as of 1.2.0.* at least) where the wheels became incompatible with the tires despite still having the same unit name and file name as before. It may no longer be necessary as of the current version. It would be nice to remove them as it presumably messes with the way the wheel DLC prevents dual tires for showing up on widebase wheels and vice versa. I will investigate.
Fury6 Apr 16, 2016 @ 2:34am
@Smarty, a small oversight - you have a redundant vanilla rear tyre definition set included in your mod.
chevyk3500 Apr 15, 2016 @ 9:50pm
This is in the DLC list for the game.
LONK Apr 12, 2016 @ 4:35pm
jerryduncan86 make sure to update to 1.2 and opt out of betas
TheBruin63 Apr 12, 2016 @ 1:55pm

cerealkilla86 Apr 9, 2016 @ 3:37pm
i downloaded this mod but it dont show up in my mod manager can anyone help
LIL BINO THE JUUL POD Apr 6, 2016 @ 8:08pm
@haroldocabelo The mod is automatically added to the game and will appear the next time you start the game. You will have to manually enable the mod in-game though. This option is given when selecting a profile to use at the beginning of the game. Happy Trucking!
haroldocabelo Apr 6, 2016 @ 5:52pm
I'm quite new here. I subscribe to download, and what? can't find no link or no download starts
killshadow Apr 6, 2016 @ 10:18am
wow nice job
Tiger313 Apr 6, 2016 @ 2:33am
Wonder if they're paintable in metallic paint as well? That'd so fit my ole W900 :))
Aradeth Apr 5, 2016 @ 1:53pm
Simple and perfect!
Thanks mate :)
60_Thou Apr 4, 2016 @ 3:16pm
@vmz23, your on the right track, that is Smarty's 524 kenny. To quote Smarty's answer to my question on another thread, "That is the 524 in my avatar, but just an old PTTM screenshot. Hopefully I can get around to it some time next year."

vmz23 Apr 4, 2016 @ 1:02pm
@Smarty, I meant to say "profile picture" it looks like an old Kenworth. But the A2HD looks pretty cool too. That looks like fun.
Smarty  [author] Apr 4, 2016 @ 12:03pm
@DevilDogSniper: Workshop mods only work on the game version 1.2 or higher (currently in public beta). You can either opt in to the beta via the Steam library or wait until 1.2 hits the public branch (probably the safest option). Otherwise, the way to add Workshop mods is to subscribe on Workshop and then activate the mod for specific profiles via the in-game mod manager.

@vmz23: You mean the Scot A2HD? It's going to public when it's finished. It's close, soooo close. There are a lot of things I want to polish on it first though. :)
vmz23 Apr 3, 2016 @ 11:14pm
@Smarty, the truck in your profile is completely badass, is that a public mod or a private mod? If it's private, I'm sorry, but if it's public, do you have a link for it? Thank you!
