I would so love to make the colonies have those flags. Unfortunately, the flags of colonial countries (not countries like the USA, Haiti and Canada, but "Thirteen Colonies", "Newfoundland" and "Antilles", etc.) are not customisable. It's a real shame and I always thought they should have made the colonial flag compress the mother country flag into the upper left corner and had the rest be the regional colour, alas, Paradox is Paradox.

I can make those flags, no problem, but they unfortunaely won't be much use.

Yeah, you know they police mods? Paradox has taken retribution against modders for mods they've found distasteful. Considering Paradox's no swastika policy, it was not so "dumb" to refrain from using it.

Beyond this, if you knew how many fascist flags I've received requests for-- in a game that absolutely doesn't have any sort of fascist government-- and there was a growing suspicion that people requested the Nazi and fascist flags not to "figtt against them" but to emulate them in an attempt to erase history on a small scale. It's different in a game with Nazi Germany of the CSA and wanting to play the faction that historically lost at crucial turning points in history. I felt that I was being used to help people live out fantasies of a sick ideology. I didn't want to be a party to that, so I didn't. It had nothing to do with trying to make the nazis not exist. It was completely to do with avoiding helping someone glorify nationalism.

No offense, but history's unerasable. I'm just saying, it's a dumb move not to use the swastika, in real life, during WW2, that's what they were fighting. Not just the Berlin Cross.

This isn't even the German flag during WWII, it is the flag used for the Kreigsmarine commonly mistaken for the flag that Germany as a whole used.

I have been reluctant to do said flag because of likewise negative symbolism associated with it. However, doing a bit of research on it, I have discovered that the chief objection is that it is symbol of imperialism (rather of racism and hate). This is EU4. We should all be okay with a bit of imperialism. That and the current Japanese prime minister said it was okay. So, yes, I will finally make that flag.
