this mod is broken and will crash your game and ruin your save file.

I was hoping that there will be a version of this mod in the future that ONLY prevents historical buildings from being abandoned. That would allow you to mark buildings you want to keep from changing.

The Mod work in 2025 with the latest version on Steam, but with some caveats:

As building can't be abandoned, all effects that could lead to abandonment are also held in place, like an industrial building can't find workers, cant sell products or a dead person is waiting to be piacked up. Only way to get rid of those icons over the houses is to disable this mod.

Which is a shame. I was hoping to build various things in the game as some houses are not static, i.e. they can change from a popped down Burger King restaurant to some default ingame house asset. I was hoping this mod could prevent this, but as it locks effects in place on the buildings i need to look elsewhere for a solution.

If you can live with these icons breaking immersion, i say this mod will do what you ask.

Unfortunately the mod is not being maintained anymore. I do wish it was updated or somebody made a new version of it, but alas.

Theres an option for no abandonment in the mod Advanced Building Level Control
