Yup it's very helpful. For the lod, the video shows how he packs the uvws on the map space. I do this a lot, but sometimes it will make areas that are important very small so you will have to make custom uvs sometimes for the lod, other times I can get away with just using the auto pack uv option.

Wow thanks Shroomblaze I'll take a look.

Also, I never do all the composite layers stuff the video shows, I just used my basic diffuse, normal, illumination, spec and color maps. saving them one at a time.

Ah I see, there is actually a method that I learned for 3DS Max that will save you TONS of time. You will no longer have to make textures, only Geometry + editing the automated textures a little bit in photoshop for flaws with illumination maps and what not. VIP actually showed me this some months back and I first used it on my Union Pacific Train. If you have trouble with it let me know, I had a little bit of trouble figuring it out because I messed up on one part and made multiple channels, the channels should always remain at 1.

Oh and I model in 3DSMAX, making and texturing LODs by hand, I haven't come across an automated method that is reliable.

Yes sorry Shroomblaze, I did not include the LOD illumination map when importing into CS, I will update it when I get the chance.

Im fine with the Tri count on this, I think is perfect size and I agree people subscribe to crazy sized vehicles. As I stated earlier though, I wish this illuminated as bright as the main model when I zoom out. It all kinda fades a little bit. I really like this model though, I think it's your best casino.

Worked pretty hard to keep the tri count as low as possible, as I always do. Yet people are subscribing to 10k tri ambulances...
Leo Mystic Magic Oct 16, 2015 @ 12:58pm
2k tri trees is fine. CO said that trees can go upwards of 2k tris.
Meteor Daddy Oct 16, 2015 @ 9:19am
6100 tris, the trees are 2k tris each... XD

Beautiful.

Good idea, but remember that growables are only 4x4 max in size. Cassinos in this size will look strange I think.

More casinos please! Yours ARE the best!

Hey this looks fantastic, I love all the bright lights and neon. I'm disappointed that I don't see that same kind of vibrance when I zoom out and get the lod. I'm just wondering what program you use and how do you make your lods?
