Can you fix the issue of not being able to build water fortresses so I DON'T have to download a whole other mod pack that I don't want???

This might be the case (as this mod was created before the Poseidon 1.8 patch and an update was required to update the Builders), but it's weird nobody reported it before. You can use the balance mod which integrated the Racial Watchtower and where it's possible to build Water Fortresses: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=661597466

@Ragnar: I forgot if we have this localized in the balance mod http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=661597466 (which integrates the Racial Watchtowers), but if not, do you authorize us to use your localization? We lost our Russian translator some years ago, so the Russian localization of the balance mod is stalled.

all i see is halfling towers on rmg, maybe the watchtowers should vary. high elf tower update please looks like it could do with a more elven look. thanks for your work <3

I'm afraid iHunterKiller does not play AoW3 any more. However, the PBEM & Single Player balance mod included Racial Watchtower in its v1.21 version and has updated it to allow for water fort building. So you can use it to get Racial Watchtower working correctly (1 or 2 watchtowers whose ownership flags were not visible were also corrected): http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=661597466

This mod needs to be updated for the newest patch (1.8 Poseidon). It somehow interferes with the ability of the builder to build a water fort.

It looks like he just took structures from the City skirmish maps for each race and scaled it to make it a tower.

Aow 3 Launcher /UserContent/ Open Package Manager

File New -- Enter a name for your mod. Then up top go to the "Content Bar" open packages and tick "Black Market Dwellings" and Racial Watchtowers. Now in the priority box in the bottom right make sure the priority is set to higher than that of both of the involved mods in this case 2. Next...

Launch Mod editor Aow3/ Content/Title/ Packs
select AoW_LevelGenerator.rpk

Click Generation Settings from the drop-down toolbar and on the 10th line you will see
Land (Structure). Click it and then hit modify. Bottom line on the right side of the screen you will see a line called "Generation Passes" Open it up.
Now from the "Available List" scroll down until you find "Shared- The Black Market" and double click it (it should go over into the selected list, make sure it does).
Now do exactly the same for Continent (Structure), Underground (Structure), Islands (Structure). Then file, save and your finished!!!

I think I will just leave instructions on how to patch. If you are too lazy send me a friend request and you can download it from friends only. Making A Patch is sooooo EASY for this and this will work for most other compatability issues involving the RMG.

@Spesh, agree with both those points. High Elf watchtowers were resized at some point in the update process and the texture quality was lessened for some reason (and unintentionally to be sure). TLoEB is also a great mod idea like this one, would be nice if they both would work simultaneously.

I'm enjoying the extra flavor given by this mod!
2 problems though.

1. The elven watchtower's texture is of way lower quality than the other watchtowers. Idk if this is an issue on my end or what, but its kinda jarring when the other watchtowers look so nice.

2. Could you make this compatible with The League of Extraordinary Builders? (mod that lets builders build most structures like goldmines and shit, I like making maps looks asthetic as fwark)
With that mod installed, my tigran builder can only build Human watchtowers.

ah okay ill try that thanks. Just throwing out an idea, currently youve got custom icons for the different towers... but they look a little odd. This is because all other buildings are represented by art. Might I suggest that you use the 'racial' icons instead to represent the towers... you know the ones that are there on the leader create screen when choosing a race. the one with the face and the city in the background. it would look less odd imo.

Great mod though, couldnt live without it now

@drew_west i just checked it to be sure and all the towers are present in my version of the editor.
Do note that you may need to go to Content > Packages and active mods and expansions in order to see that content in the editor.

Extra effects like increased movement, invisibility, higher defense for garrisonned units, would be a great idea.

Now if we can just get racial Fortresses... :)

Much better with the latest patch - sizes are nice! Don't think I agree with having extra effects on the towers as part of this package but sure, try it out in a separate mod if you're up to it! :)

adding racial effects to the towers would be a great idea
I cant say I have ever built a watchtower with a builder, just forts
but adding racial effects would really make them more useful
