Super-cool class (pun intended). Just one slight issue; I can only select either this or Frost Invoker, as both together use the same category (Magic/Frost) and you end up with 8 spells overloading on that one. Obviously not your fault (also posted over there), but having one renamed so they can live in harmony would be nice. :-)

FYI I've updated this such that it should run for the latest version of ToME. Not really active on the game anymore but had a few people request it. Let me know in comments/thread if there's any other errors.
The upcoming DLC has a class that's effectively an updated version of this that I created, so that will supersede it on release.

I too am encountering a Lua error, seems the update too the base necromancer class now clashes with this one, specifically corpse explosion is causing an immediate crash.

Hey there, this mod is awesome! A masterpiece.
Since the 1.7 update I have a Lua error on load, probably because the reworked necromancer makes some talent names conflict. Wish you could update this golden and marvelous mod =D

New player here, what race do you recommend for the death knight? I read on some forums that shalore is good for everything, should I go with that?

It was happening to any character with the Block talent, regardless of class.

Huh. I seem to remember there being a rather prominent one involving the block talent that was stemming from Deathknight, happening whenever you moused over the talent. It doesn't seem to be happening now though. I'll post a screenshot if I ever see it again.

Far as I know there isn't any LUA errors with this at the moment. The patch was to fix an issue where Lightbane did far more damage than intended.

I see you posted an update back in October, but didn't make any real patch notes. What changed? Fixed LUA errors, perhaps?

Getting a ton of LUA errors when playing my DK since yesterday, rendering that character unplayable. Unsure as to what may be going on and hoping it isn't an issue with any updates here!

Forgot to flag the squire as undead. That's fixed in the latest version I just uploaded, along with some range and damage bugs.

Not sure if it's an incompatibility with a ghoul buff addon I have, but it seems that retch deals damage to my Squire!

Thanks SeeWen. I'll have a look at Soul Reaper tonight and see what the issue is.
The class was very heavily inspired by Deathknight in WotLK, so you're right there.
You're right that on Normal the class is very strong, but less so on higher difficulties as it has low mobility and escapes. I might still reduce some of their defensive power but I'm tied up with Assassin at the moment, so perhaps after that's done I'll revisit this.

mhhhh. I was wrong with the cheated class. in Nightmare mode, with low constitution, and no class escape, and so bad mobility... the mid game is no walk in the park...

It looks cheated... but it's really not.

There's a bug with "Soul Reaper". @level 2 range should be 5 (according to tooltip).
But it stays at range 4.

the class is really interesting, and really fun to play.
I love DK in "wrath of the lich king", and your DK feel a little bit like it in some areas.

BUT. I think you should rework it a little bit, beccause it's too much overpowered, too soon, too often:
- Essence Drain + Pale rider + Meat shield + pets + Shadow of death + CD reduction :-).

Maybe, you could rework some/all of these talents, to activate only with "5/5 talent invested", on the last talent lane. So you could not have all of them always.
Or make "essence drain" fade after a while.
Or make them use all "souls" and unusable without souls... etc..

I'm sure that if you balance your class a little bit, Darkgod (or other dev, if they learn about your class) may add it to the base game.
This class is intelligent, fun, tome's spirit compatible, and differents from other class at the same time

I enjoy this class a lot !

Bones - is this at low levels? Deathknight doesn't have Combat Accuracy learned by default, so if you're used to melee classes that do you'll find your accuracy far worse. I'd recommend picking it up immediately at level 1. Aside from that there's nothing in the class that will affect accuracy.

It feels like whenever I play this class, my melee attacks have a 10% chance to hit - my accuracy just plummets, and I lose fights I feel I should be winning because I'm not doing any damage. Is this a part of the class that I'm not paying attention to, or something else I need to puzzle out myself?

I've been following the development of this mod for awhile now. While it's a tad overpowered in some areas, it's also easily the most interesting custom class I've ever seen. Tons neat mechanics and interactions, very original playstyle. Great Work! :trophy:
