If its hexadecimal then it's 00 because in binary that is 0000 while 01 translates to 0001, you know?

@Ḡо∂ ℃αїпё- Press the ` tilde key (not a quotation mark- the little dash thingy, right next to the 1 on my keyboard). See also: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console

I hope this helps!

Question. Probably putting this to the wrong place. But could you by chance tell me how to access the console? .-.

@soulesspirit- That's very strange. I'll need to test this on somebody else's installation. The ring uses a script I wrote that moves the NPC to the player when equipped and back to his home location when un-equipped, so I guess there's a chance the script didn't update when you installed the mod? Strange...

I couldn't get the ring from the console. I moved the data file to the top of the list but 00 or 01 didn't work. I did get the ring though by going back to the chest and thankfully the ring was there even though it is not a new game. But it does not summon anyone. I have equiped un equiped and requiped countless times. I tried in the fort where you get the ring, whiterun, breezehome.. noone appears.

@ilovechespin- Were you able to get the ring? If so, he should just show up when you put it on and disappear when you take it off. Sometimes it's not immediately obvious where he shows up; I know I have to look a little bit in the Oblivion version, at least.

It's not working for me, I can't manage to summon him.

Besides the obvious boon it makes getting thane in certain holds eaiser as some of the citzens ask for skill books. Since the little guy restocks you don't loose the book permanently and can have a nice library in your player home. :steamhappy:

@Superguy985- XX needs to be replaced with the mod's listing order. When you launch Skyrim and select your data files for mods, you'll see a list including the base game, any of your DLC's, and your mods. Count down to Skill Merchant Mod's entry and you'll get the entry number. So, if it's the fifth file, it'll be 05. (If 05 doesn't work, try 04- I'm not sure if the system starts counting at 00 or 01.) Also, heads up, the index number's in hexadecimal, so if you have over ten files, you'll need to count 0A through 0F before getting to 10.

I hope this clears things up a bit!

Aye, it's with Hadvar. I, uh, completely didn't notice Ralof in those first few minutes, sorry!

Warden's Chest? Is that the thing you get with Hadvaar? Bad for me cause I normally choose Ralof.
The Dave  [author] Aug 20, 2015 @ 8:20am
@Fizel- sorry if I wasn't clear- it's the Warden's Chest where you pick up your first equipment. That second image I uploaded shows where it is. Hope that helps!

"a ring I've placed in a chest at the beginning of the game, same place as the initial armor and weapon"
And where exactly would this be? You really need to be more specific...
