Have restarted game several times now; the mod does not show up.

This mod isn't showing up in my list even though I am subscribed to it.

will this work for quests that require you to do expiditions like a cave if it is under ice in the water?
blockbuilder Feb 8, 2017 @ 12:39pm
please make a non rising tides version for us vanilla gamers!
Venusaisha Sep 20, 2016 @ 5:19pm
nice, even on arid map makes look like coming out of a ice age and keeps aliens controled some even if a stronger/agressive aliens mod enabled:steamhappy:

Updated to work with Rising Tide!

Plus some additional changes to the names and yields of terrain, and a new wonder. See change notes for full details.

@HandyVac Thanks! It might be a while before I can pick up Rising Tide :/

this is how frigid biome should have been for BERT
HandyVac  [author] Oct 25, 2015 @ 1:08pm
@rgelok30. Ah, I hadn't actually tested this with vanilla since BERT came out. That's not an incompatibility with other mods, it's broken by the patch that happened on the date BERT was released.

I'm working on a Rising Tide version of this mod now, will swing back and update the non-dlc version when I'm done.

When I add this mod in with a bunch of other mods I've used together without problems, I get a bug where the research web won't load properly. Any ideas what the conflict might be? I don't think my other mods do anything but cosmetic changes to the research web to reflect what modded buildings and so on do.

Sand world sounds cool.
Warzone Aug 11, 2015 @ 9:36pm
Now do a world of sand, we must allow the sand to flow.
HandyVac  [author] Aug 5, 2015 @ 3:40am
@PhailRaptor Yeah, I've noticed that myself a few times. Exit to desktop then restart BE will get you the tree graphics back. I should probably add this to the list of known issues above.

I don't think it's a conflict with Visually Distinctive, but it's probably due to the same underlying cause (whatever that is) that prevents the glacier version of the texture being loaded to replace the visually distinctive version.
PhailRaptor Aug 4, 2015 @ 5:43pm
Strange... I turn the mod off, and my Forests are still Glaciers... Is this an additional side effect of being used with the Visually Distinctive series?
Morkoving Aug 4, 2015 @ 4:45am
Oua le mod de la planète en age glacière se mod est génial
TheStanz Aug 1, 2015 @ 12:10pm
@HandyVac I'm not actually using any other mods. I thought that might be a problem, so I removed all of them and reinstalled this one to see if it worked. No dice. Oh well, I'll keep poking around. It might be a problem with the game itself
HandyVac  [author] Aug 1, 2015 @ 5:52am
@TheStanz. If you're not getting sea ice around the coastlines then my best guess is that one of the other mods you're using at the same time is also replcing loadscreen.lua.

Try going through your mods menu and turning off all other mods except this one, and see if it works then. After that you can turn your other mods back on one by one to see which one is causing the conflict.
TheStanz Jul 31, 2015 @ 9:37am
Am I the on;y one having issues with this mod not changing any tiles except for glacier? I've deleted and re-subscribed to the mod and deleted the cache for the game—still doesn't work. Suggestions?
Galgus Jul 30, 2015 @ 11:25pm
I do love your work, and limiting expansion by requiring the removal of ice is quite thematic and clever.
zArkham4269 Jul 30, 2015 @ 7:27am
BTW, I'm pretty sure I used the fugal biome mod once and it seemed to work fine with this mod.
zArkham4269 Jul 30, 2015 @ 7:26am
Are you consideirng doing a Dune planet mod? If so, I would hope you'd use the concepts developed for the Dune Wars mods of Civ IV fame. If anything, I feel that Civ:BE really lacks in the tech and improvements to deal with different bioshperes. I've also felt that domes should be something you only build on desert or snow to show a habitat built to deal with harsh environments.

Anyway just think it would be cool to have the Wind Traps, ice mining for water and the like.
HandyVac  [author] Jul 29, 2015 @ 2:16pm
That was my first thought, but adding references didn't seem to change anything when I tried. I was still getting the visually distinctive version of the file even though it should have been subesquently replaced by the glacier version. So eventually I gave up.
Ryika Jul 29, 2015 @ 1:10pm
Shouldn't it be possible to prevent that by adding these mods as References?
HandyVac  [author] Jul 27, 2015 @ 8:11am
As mentioned in Known Issues above, biome graphics mods (e.g. Visually Distinctive Terrains) will make the glaciers look like trees. The glacier and frost actually *are* forests and marsh behind the scenes, just with altered stats (and art, in the case of glaciers), so the forest graphic from the biome mod ends up overwriting the forest graphic that looks like a glacier.

Aside from that it should work fine.
zArkham4269 Jul 27, 2015 @ 7:27am
Will this override or ignore some of the other biome mods (like Lush, Fungal and Arid) or will the terrain not created by this mod show up from those mods?
HandyVac  [author] Jul 27, 2015 @ 5:17am
@Lord Shaithis. You can select this mod when you want to play it, just like any other mod, by going through the mods menu before starting a new game.

If selected it will transform whatever map you play that game, regardless of the type of planet or biome you choose in game-setup.
Annihilation Angel Jul 27, 2015 @ 12:24am
will this change every single map i play or can i just select it when i want to play it?
HurtYog Jul 26, 2015 @ 12:49pm

Oh many thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I try it !
Suicide Commando Jul 25, 2015 @ 11:52am
Nice mod, almost as nice as the fire mod ;) You might want to add something in it to get more geothermal though, I was having serious issues getting enough for everything. It also makes the crawler wonder very powerful

In the meantime, you could always use http://steamworkshopdownloader.com/
HandyVac  [author] Jul 25, 2015 @ 3:36am
Ah, sure. The alternate download will be up in a couple of days, once civfanatics.com is back online after their server migration.
