When GM:S updated years ago, older games broke.
Fortunately, the source code is available for this game, so you can recompile it and fix it.

Hey man, how do you keep the movement in 16 px and make the object_payer look "slowly"? I trying to do that, and he move really fast using 16 as a value.

I went through like 3 harddrives recently and i am currently very busy with school. i will work on finding the source code when i have the time to do so.

You might want to add an extra frame for each picture in the walking animations, they just look a little fast compared to what it looks like in the actual game

Try using this code to make your character apear behind the houses whenever you walk behind houses.

depth=y*-1;
}

place it in your step event in a new ode, or place it in a script & import the script to the event, either way, it should still work.

right know i currtently know these coding languages - C++, C#, Java, Python, PHP, vbs, VB, html/css, JavaScript, LUA and SQL. A really good place to learn is sololearn.com .

also, coding is alot about venturing out of your comfort zone, remember the more you struggle the more you learn!

As far as learning GML, check out rm2kdev and heartbeast on youtube they have awesome tutorials on their channels

How did you learn how to code like this? I am trying to figure out how to code properly so I won't need to watch tutorails anymore. Did you learn java. How did you learn how to do original code?

a glitch i found is that when i weent to the top right corner of the pokemon center, and tried to go back down, i got stuck and had to restart the game. other than that, great game, i see a lot of potential and i cant wait to play the finished product. :D

@Lewisk3 - In all fairness I'm no dev, I just have a general grasp of concepts and I use that to help a bit. Tried my hand at full fledged development, not for me. Too lazy myself. The hard way is THE WAY man, "never give up, trust your instincts!"

@Lewisk3 - I am totally not being sarcastic, I really did enjoy hopping over the wall and running around lol. I mean, obviously it needs a lot of work to be a playable GAME, but as a functioning test of some basic features and graphic interactions it's fantastic. And no, I totally understand, I help my brother-in-law code his less than impressive game to be, and I witness all of his complaints.

This project was mostly a learning experience, and also a small kit for other people to use to try and create their own pokemon games. i dont really feel good about creating a popular game thats not original and that will evolve into a copy-paste of someone elses ideas. so as of now we are working on a game that will be our own. that being said whoever wants to take over the project feel free to, the source code is available in the discription be sure to give credit to Lewisk3 Co. thanks for your support :)
