Hahahaha, I was going to make a comment about parishes, but everybody else beat me to it!

Really cool map, by the way.

Definitely a good place to start. Everyone should touch it up in the map editor to get it to their liking before they jump in though

I was thinking about making a map based on the Atchafalaya (At cha fa lie ya) Basin but I guess this will do.

From a Louisiana folk myself, this is an awesome map. C'est Bon!

Why is the developed-looking docks area right at the edge of the map?

Can we get a version of this map with the European theme?
FatalCharm May 6, 2015 @ 2:02am
oh, I forgot to add ... nice looking map!

@1Runar: For pretty much every state, you're going to be correct with 'County'; Louisiana is different in that respect. 'Parish' is the correct term there. There are quite a few unique things about Louisiana due to the French colonial influence.

@SlothierThanYou - Yeah I was told quite directly after I put it up that it's supposed to be parish, I can only blame my ignorance on the fact I'm over in Europe and have no idea about naming conventions in the US. Anyways thanks!

Great looking map. But is the name supposed to be cajun county or country? If you're
using county here it should be parish. Just a nit pick from someone from Louisiana. But
great looking map none the less.

My only problem is that the water moves a little too fast, great map.

very interesting map! i love the attention to detail and realistic atmosphere of it!... I am working on a map at the moment too although it's in more of a warm, dry semi-arid local on the coast.
