this mod isnt showing in-game, reinstalling does nothing. i think theres a mod conflict with unifiedUI but i dont have it installed anymore and it still shows in-game. but not this mod.

ty for da update
patrioticparadox Jan 16 @ 5:40pm
No, that's not an issue and this does not address it. Throwing more money at a problem does not scale linearly.
Xeonzs Jan 13 @ 11:57am
Does this also fix the vanilla issue / weird balancing choice where work efficiency doesn't match the % of budget cut / increase?
Reducing budget by 25% reduces efficiency by 40%, reducing budget by 50% reduces efficiency by 75%.
The same happens the other way, increasing budget by 50% only gives 25% efficiency increase.
This leads to never wanting to adjust the budget, better just place more buildings for more entertainment / land value / happiness radius generators.

I was looking for a mod that corrects that and ended up here, hench the question.

I updated the mod with a potential fix (big thanks goes to airenelias/Airen). Let me know if that was the fix you were looking for.
KrassPack Oct 25, 2023 @ 11:59am
need a update please !!!
Nocheese4u Apr 25, 2023 @ 10:32pm
Needs an update, I can still change up budgets but the actual money value shows N/A.
patrioticparadox Mar 24, 2023 @ 11:23am
Maybe
fluffy Jan 29, 2023 @ 12:11pm
Hey hey ! Some updates ? :D
Davidgas Nov 9, 2022 @ 8:13pm
This mod stopped working for me too. But I (think) I have found a fix! You need to subscribe to the Load Order Mod and using the Load Order Tool set Better Budget to load last by changing the value in the Order column to 9999. It worked for me. The budget sliders are back in the City Info windows.
Witchberry Mar 9, 2022 @ 10:02pm
this always works fine for me, I wonder why others don't
RAC1964 Dec 17, 2021 @ 12:24pm
This Blacked out my Budget panels, Could not manipulate sliders!
Jose Gaspar Sep 23, 2021 @ 11:05am
I am using this with Total Budget and working great. Really cannot update the budget with the sliders, or the sliders on budget pages, as the get updated by Total Budget. But seeing where the budget level is set to is helpful to determine if more facilities are really needed when get warning from Watch It!

I prefer watch it over City Vitals Watch simply for smaller screen footprint. Both are great.
hillfanthomlike10 Jun 4, 2021 @ 8:10am
thank you
Future Jan 27, 2021 @ 6:11am
Is this still incompatible with Total Autobudget?
hitzu Jan 20, 2021 @ 8:00am
Your mod shifts down IPT's panel out of the screen.
hergy Nov 3, 2020 @ 1:05pm
The sliders in the modpanel doesnt sync the values to the real values.
It looks like it is only sync after opening the budget menu...
Could you fix this please?
By the way, this is one of the most important mods for me. And for most other players i think...
Thx for this great mod!
Future Jul 18, 2020 @ 10:26am
Thanks! (I hope it won't be too troublesome and that I am not the only one wanting this...)
unobtanium  [author] Jul 17, 2020 @ 10:44am
I see. I will see what I can do. It seems more an issue of Total Autobudget than with my mod since it clearly is able to sync up when changing the budgets manually. I will ask the author if he knows how to fix it.
Future Jul 17, 2020 @ 6:49am
The sliders in the city info window don't match up/sync with the ones in the budget panel when Total Autobudget is enabled and there are a few errors in the output log.

The reason I want the mod is because Total Autobudget manages a few bugets well (i.e. electricity) but not others (education, water when it comes to heating) so I need to manually adjust them. Last time I relied on Total Autobudget to monitor the education budget about 50-70% of my city was uneducated.
unobtanium  [author] Jul 15, 2020 @ 9:45am
What does not work with Total Autobudget? Do you need my mod when budgets are automatically adjusted anyways?

Currently dont have the time to figure out how to do that because I dont know how that mod works. I know the source code is on github, I looked into it before. I think changes would have to be made to the Total Autobudget mod to have adapt to my workaround of duplicating the sliders via coping values per Reflections.
Future Jul 12, 2020 @ 4:13pm
Can you make this compatable with Total Autobudget?
unobtanium  [author] Jun 29, 2020 @ 2:08pm
@xxx78 You cant add them manually?
xxx78 Jun 26, 2020 @ 8:00am
Great mod, but post office, industry and tours don't have any adjustable budgets.
Dregn Ryder Jun 12, 2020 @ 9:18pm
I retract my former claim that this mod is causing the inaccessible menus. The culprit is actually the Togglable Whiteness mod. My apologies. I had false positives when suspecting this mod.
Dregn Ryder Jun 1, 2020 @ 3:12pm
I had an issue with this, and had to unsub from it. While having a window like healthcare open, I was unable to click on other tabs within that window (like deathcare, childcare, etc). The window would just flash quickly, and then just sty on the healthcare window.

I really, really, love this mod, but that is a deal breaker. I don't want to have to set key-shorts for every little window, just the main ones.

I hope this issue can be fixed!
Ackerak May 17, 2020 @ 9:10am
Also have issues with Total Autobudget. Appears to be preventing the setting of budgets (by Total Autobudget, manual works) for electricity.
Future Apr 18, 2020 @ 3:05pm
I think its incompatable with Total Autobudget because I keep seeing it near stack overflow errors on the debug log
Sol Apr 16, 2020 @ 6:01am
It does work.
unobtanium  [author] Apr 16, 2020 @ 5:45am
@winnie the flu Actually an earlier version of this mod had +/- buttons but got moved out when the mod was reworked. I might sit down and add +/- buttons as an option in the customize window. I will just need to find some time and motivation to do so :S
unobtanium  [author] Apr 16, 2020 @ 5:44am
@Shadow Let me know if it doesnt. But imo the mod is fairly update-resistent unless they rework the game entirely. New budgets should be automatically recognized and you can add them manually via the customisation window (see the explanation in the images above).
Sol Apr 10, 2020 @ 6:29am
I hope this works with Sunset.
靜薰 Mar 31, 2020 @ 11:58pm
Electricity budget is displayed on the heating of Snowfall dlc,But heating should be a budget for water.
Thanks to the customisation, this is not a problem at all!

Love this mod very much!
Muspell Mar 13, 2020 @ 8:18am
or you could use your mousewheel to adjust single steps...
but that would be to complicated right?
mirocj Mar 6, 2020 @ 10:20am
I dislike sliders. Is it possible to have buttons +/- or arrows instead? This will remedy the tedious work of sliding a small percentage only to suddenly shift the opposite way. The addition of the aforementioned buttons will also greatly optimize screen usage—by eliminating whitespace the viewer can better appreciate the ongoing art.
unobtanium  [author] May 26, 2019 @ 7:15am
@Rena Fixed. The spacing between the sliders is reduced when many of them are in one window. I also merged your changes on GitHub to support other operating systems.
Rena May 16, 2019 @ 3:39pm
This makes the transit info window so tall, it covers my toolbar at the bottom. Have to remove some of the rows. Maybe they can be made smaller?
unobtanium  [author] Apr 20, 2019 @ 11:22am
Which picture made you think you could set the budget for buildings individually? :D
unobtanium  [author] Apr 20, 2019 @ 11:21am
No, you cant budget building individually. This mod just gives you access to the budget slider in the window in the top left, where you also see your demands. So you dont have to open the big seperate window to access the budget sliders and have to go back and forth between the budget window and the demand window. Thats all it does and I am not sure if it is even possible to set budgets for buildings individually.
larryh00ver Apr 8, 2019 @ 1:44pm
https://imgur.com/a/GRiAWBy screenshot to clarify exactly what menu's and sliders i can see
(please ignore the other problems they are unrelated i just made major changes to my city :P)
larryh00ver Apr 8, 2019 @ 1:40pm
hey there i have a question, does this mod allow me to budget buildings individually? the screenshots lead me to believe so, but in-game i don't have a budget slider like in the photo when i select a service building, with the correct menu open as shown in the picture as well.
TLDR i feel like i am doing everything correctly but i am not getting the expected results but are my expectations just false? maybe i misunderstand the purpose of the mod
unobtanium  [author] Feb 15, 2019 @ 3:31pm
I tried something out. Maybe it is fixed for you now. Please try it out and report back to me if it is the flickering still happens or if it stopped. Thank you :)
unobtanium  [author] Feb 14, 2019 @ 10:09am
Yes, my mod does that, because the expense values are only updated if the screen is open since it uses up a lot of processing power. In one of the first versions of the mod, this lead to huge performance hits, thus I had to limit it somehow. Therefore, I open the budget window for a single frame once very minute which is enough to update the expenses of the budgets.

Thats why I wanted him to press ALT+B, because it disables/enables opening the budget window, to see if that is the issue. I thought I pushed the budget window off the screen, but maybe if it is opened once by the player, then its position is normal again.

I will try to fix it tomorrow. I think I know how to fix it. I will let you know if I found a fix.
Gentian Leke Ymeri Dukagjini Feb 14, 2019 @ 6:24am
@unobtanium I too notice the flickering. Once every dozen seconds or so a brief budget screen (the vanilla one) shows and then disappears. It may be a different screen, though, because it disappears so quickly I can't recognise it well. But seems to be the budget one.
unobtanium  [author] Feb 10, 2019 @ 6:25am
Okay, I kind of need some more information on that. What kind of flickering? When? How does it look like? Does it happen when you disable all the other mods?

Press ALT+B once and report back if the flickering goes away.
Seleck Feb 9, 2019 @ 7:23pm
this mod creates a visual glitch :( I'm not sure if it is conflict with some other mod

the screen flickers every few seconds
unobtanium  [author] Jan 19, 2019 @ 3:00pm
That is good to hear :steamhappy:
chill_eule Jan 19, 2019 @ 8:16am
it ALL works like a charm now! thank you very much for the latest update! *thumbs up* :steamhappy:
