Hey all,
I've forked this mod and updated it. The info view alignment issue is now fixed. I've also replaced the buttons with an option slider. Best of all, the scaling you set is persistent and will load automatically each game. Link: ScaleUI

@permutation, if you see this, can you please link the mod here?

pls fix the info view position.. its a superb mod!!

Sadly, the info view is half blocked. That means you miss the entire left row of the info views! Works wonderfully otherwise.

Not usable on Microsoft Surface Book because it puts the "Info Views" and in game menu exit buttons off screen no matter what size the UI is scaled to.

As a followup, it works equally well in the campus update, but the out of place changes from other mods are kind of a pain. I think IPT2 is leading to the transport line overview being messed up unless you resize while it's open. It's a shame the game isn't built to allow this.

This actually seems to work for me, in 1.11, but I can't speak for the campus update coming out in under a day.
It's not perfect - a couple mod icons like Move It and Prop It Up don't stay in their spot on the bar. Since I made the UI smaller, they're floating in the middle of my screen now. It might be worth it to shrink that horrendous public transport UI though :P

I know this mod is no longer maintained but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway, especially because I haven't found any other similar mod. For anyone with a similar thought: I have to disappoint you. The UI scaling works but trees don't render anymore and it becomes impossible to place anything (roads, buildings etc). I also got an error message when I loaded a map, that persisted even after disabling the mod. So if anyone wants to try it nonetheless, I suggest to not use your most important savegame.

I do hope someone will continue this mod someday; the UI when playing on a 1440p monitor is simply way too large.

@Mikko.Kekalainen: I've created an issue on the GitHub repo for this feature request. Don't expect it too soon, though. I'd already tried to implement it from the beginning and failed.

Please add support for downscaling. I have 2560x1600 resolution -- the default UI size is unnecessarily large.

@amne7ia: I'd say it's pretty much impossible that ScaleUI is blocking game loading. The only time the mod is ever initialized is when a game has been loaded/started, and even then it first lets the game finish its own initialization (see https://github.com/githubpermutation/skylines-scaleui/blob/master/ScaleUI/ScaleUILoader.cs#L12-L20) . At worst you could get a loaded game with the mod not correctly started, but the resolution has no bearing on that.

I'm on 1440p windowed and for some reason it doesn't allow me to load up a game. Could be clashing with another mod but it's working fine without this enabled.

Thanks aj, that was very helpful. I was hoping this mod allowed for downscaling but sadly it doesn't. The UI at default scaling is just too damn large.
permutation  [author] Mar 28, 2015 @ 11:13am
@aj: Can you elaborate? The mod does not support scaling to smaller than 1.0 (which is the default), as it leads to a lot of rendering errors which I don't know how to fix.
aj Mar 28, 2015 @ 9:54am
Sadly, I can only upscale, not downscale. 1920x1200 resolution.

great thx!! i dont unterstand why developers dont do this vanilla
permutation  [author] Mar 23, 2015 @ 11:53am
@Dex: I can't confirm your report. I have had other users with 1366x768 look into it and it worked just fine.
permutation  [author] Mar 22, 2015 @ 11:52pm
@Dex: Sorry, I can't test this, it's not an option on my setup. You could post a few screen shots (click + 3 times, screenshot, hit reset, screenshot, etc.), maybe I'll see what might be going on.
Dex Mar 22, 2015 @ 2:20pm
Completely messes up the UI on a 1366 x 768 resolution. No scale change works correctly and reset is broken too, as it reset to a broken scale.
Bpbill Mar 21, 2015 @ 1:43am
This is great has just made a huge change to my enjoyment. I'm no longer leaning over my desk squinting at the text on screen
Wilder Mar 19, 2015 @ 2:49am
Gustav, its thats because have pirated version?? just download it here...easy, but not if you own a pirated version
Cadelao Mar 18, 2015 @ 9:07am
I think you didnt like my request, did you? :~~
permutation  [author] Mar 18, 2015 @ 4:30am
@Baleur: This mod scales the root UI object, which affects every part of the interface, including the text.
Baleur Mar 18, 2015 @ 2:47am
This might do wonders for TextScaleMod (unless this also scales the text?) to prevent larger text spilling out of the UI
Proditor Mar 18, 2015 @ 12:44am
Thank you : ) Keep up the good work.
Cadelao Mar 17, 2015 @ 4:52pm
NICE!!!! But could you please upload the compiled mod to github? Thanks!!!
