For some reason the mod isn't working for me at all, I have it downloaded and made sure it's active. What am I missing?

I've tried your ideas to make Hadvar give the marriage options: no luck. He only works properly when I start a new game. Then, he notices the amulet of Mara and starts the quest. I appreciate your efforts to help me with that, but I really don't want to start another character yet. :)) Anyway, I'll keep trying. If I find out what works in my case, I'll let you know because it might help other people. I also liked the dialogue choices - they fit accordingly.
Just one issue despite the marriage thing: Hadvar gets the grey face bug. When my npc mods get that I know I forgot to hit CTRL+F4 to export their face settings in the CK - just a thought if you don't mind me saying... ;)

Part 2

- go into console commands again and click hadvar and type 'resetAI''

- load an earlier save, this sometimes works better if it's from before you downloaded the mod. But try quick saving and loading before you go back to a save from before the download

- unsub from the mod, load skyrim and let it download mods again, when it's done, close it and resub and redownload

But yeah in all I really do have no idea why he does this, there was no tutorial on how to make marriable followers so I was just winging it at the time heheh, hopefully one of these works

Part 1- apparently I can't have over 1000 characters

@Narinha, Yeah, never really figured out completely what's wrong. There's a few thing that worked when I tried to fix it for myself (Save before you do these just incase)

- have him stop following you and then see if he has the option when he's not a follower (you could do this after every step as well, have him leave your service, talk to him and if it's not there, refollow and try another step)

- just hit him with a sword, i have no idea why this worked once but this was because he didn't want to be a follower, not because he didn't have the marrying option

- drop the amulet of mara and go get another

- go into console commands and click hadvar, then type 'player.setrelationshiprank 4' and 'setrelationshiprank player 4' it's basically the same command but I can't remember what one actually works >^<

By the way, he works as a follower very well, but he never gives me the dialogue for marrying him. Do you have any ideas? I was reading the other comments you said you'd try to fix that... Thanks again for the good job.

My skyrim crashes when i use this mod :c

It worked just fine for me, only problem was that he disappeared for a few days before showing up at my house after our wedding. Follower worked too, best part though was when I went into the inn to find him and both Hadvars were sitting next to eat other eating bread at the same time haha. Overall, your mod worked for me the way it was supposed to and I found your dialogue choices appropriate for the situations. Good job!

I can't marry him! What do I need to do?

This mod is just fine, sorry for the negativity. I was just ranting because I was frustrated. The in game Hadvar is impossible to make a follower (acorrding to my limited console command abilities) due to, like you said, him being related to too many quest (in the end I just console command killed him and left). I noticed you said that you didn't want to change it because you would break something....well I've finished the main quest and the Civil War quest so if you made a mod that broke him after those two were finished I would totally try it. Just make the description clear that you shouldn't use it until you've completed those quests.

@braincarrottop, Unfortunately I couldn't use the real Hadvar as he had so many quests and places he had to be, it'd mess with the main storyline. I cloned him as it wouldn't mess up the game and I'm not that much of an experienced modder as it is so if i'd broken him I wouldn't be able to fix it. And the no talking bug, I really have no idea what's going on with that, normally a save/load fixes it or if not close the game and open it again, like I say - I'm not an experienced modder, only really made retextures so it's the first thing major I've done, Thanks for letting me know the no talking thing is still going on though - I'll have to see if I can sort that at some point.

This mod is not very good. It doesn't make the Hadvar already in the game a follower it makes a new hadvar (which you find sitting next to the real hadvar) and this one can't even talk half the time. I wanted to get a mod that let me recruit Hadvar so he could join the Blades. Talk about the ultimate promotion! I hope that I didn't just complain about something that's explained in the description because I didn't read it. Hoping some one will make a mod for those like myself.

Married him and moved to his house but there's not an option for him to move to my house? Do you have to own vanilla Skyrim property for this to work because I've only got player created ones at the moment?

I've been a bit busy so I haven't had much time to play around with it, I've worked out that I can't just delete the hearthfire lines like i thought I could so I've had to start making the mod again - It's about 20% done right now but since summer is coming up I should have a load more time to work on it :3

Oh also is there a dead body at your wedding, I know that sounds weird but check around? Sometimes people report that a dead Lydia ruins their day

Is one of the guests a bandit or anyone that would attack you normally? And is everyone attacking you or is it just one person attacking you?

Wow that's weird, I think I've had this before - Have you stolen anything/killed anyone the guests may know? There are a few google results that have this same problem so if you're up for looking on there it might help

Yeah I can give it a shot, the only reason it needs hearthfire is because of moving to the houses.

is it possible for you to make this mod without having to have any dlcs?

Hmmm, The only thing I can think of doing would be going into the console commands thing, selecting him and typing setrelationshiprank player 4. If that doesn't work throw your amulet of mara away and get another? That's worked for me a few times, Skyrim is so picky. I'm glad he has the talking option though- everyone's been so vague I wasn't even sure the mod worked till now. If you still can't get him to work feel free to add me as a friend and we can sort it out while you're online/in game.

He does have that option. It's strange -- I can have him as a follower and everything else works perfectly... I am also wearing the Amulet of Mara and have talked to the priest, so that shouldn't be a problem. Perhaps I'm just not attractive enough? ;)

If he doesn't try having him leave you as a follower and saving right in front of him and reloading the save

@GulaSmula - Does he have a dialogue option called "Let's talk" or "Want to talk" or something along those lines?

Somehow, I can make him my follower but I can't marry him? The option "Interested in me, are you?" won't show... Is there anything I need to do before I can marry him, or is something else the problem?

It sounds like he's working as he should, as long as you've got the "Want to talk?" option (The only dialogue he really has appart from follower stuff) all his other custom dialogue should work, and he doesn't really have any mod compatibility at all xD I'm not sure about the marrying someone else and people having the marriage dialogue - I'm sure I've never been able to have marriage dialogue with two people >_< I wish I did, I'd get two meals and two cuts of gold.

Yep, he still let's me ask that, does from the get go. Just thought it odd since the other followers will still continue marriage dialogue (if you're married to them) once you marry someoneelse. I have noticed that other mods affect his dialogue. For example stay away from amazing follower tweeks. You only have the want to talk option with that mod for him. Over all I like Hadvar though :)

The cooking and stuff is all marriage stuff so he shouldn't do that if you marry someone else, Is he still letting you say "Want to talk?" That should be the only thing new you can ask if you're not married

@Jitrobee - The other follower you marry goes to normal dialogue? Or Hadvar?

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but I found once you marry another spouse (or even become engaged to another follower) you lose dialogue. I.E. he reverts to follower and you can't change his clothes, get him to cook for you, ask how the store is doing or ask him to move with you.

Weird, As long as he goes to yours that's good.
