Spent a lot of hours trying to make it work through steam workshop w/o success...

I´m working on the second patch that will change mainly the situations file and we could see if it fixes it. In the mean time you could try deleting the situations file located at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Democracy 3\brazilchallenge\data\simulation
It will not have a big impact on the game (you will lose the general strike situation only), but could be the source of the problem, as that file was the source of the problem on the first version.
To make sure steam workshop updated it could you please uninstall the mod and reinstall it? You can uninstall from the game menu and can reinstall by turning off and on the inscription on the workshop. If that doesn´t work please tell me what error you are getting.
Found the problem, and will post an upgraded version later today.
