I haven't played today but as of last night it was working fine w/the latest version, so I assume it still is. Just an fyi.
Not sure if it still works, I didnt make any updates for ages, and game was updated several times since this mod was created.

It's also not a big deal, so if you're busy, there's no rush. When I plan to leave base for a few days, I store the birds in my ice boxes, and that solves it. :)

Hi, and first of all, thank you for making this awesome mod! Farming feathers was such a pain for me before. It works marvelously, but I have experienced a few crashes (about 4 or 5) during my uses. I've played with my mods settings (for this specific mod and for other mods I'm using), and I've narrowed the source of the crash to when the birds in my cages die. One of the reasons I know this is because, on a given day that I don't feed the birds, the game will always crash at the same time that day, no matter how many times I play it over. If I do feed the birds on that day, the game continues as normal. This happens regardless of how I configure the mod.
I have screenshots of the crash code, if you'd like to see it.

This was with default settings as well.
About the crash problem, it seems to happen mostly when the bird starves to death in the cage. Immediately after it dies, the game crashed for me (server player). One time it didn't crash when the bird died, but it crashed a little while later with the same error.
It's never crashed from this while the bird was alive.
I've had the bug happen with the settings (feathers = many, ground = many, seeds = default) and (feathers = many, ground = more, seeds = default).

Birds still die in the cage? Mod seems to be working for me wihtout problems.
This is one of my favorites for orig game, I put the drop rate on low, but it's still immensely helpful, and it makes sense. Farming feathers is just too boring otherwise.
You make a good point, I've always thought it was too powerful, the birdcage. Posted a thread about it on klei suggestions forums http://forums.kleientertainment.com/topic/52636-bird-cage-is-overpowered/

They need to do something with birdcages anyway, it is most overpowered item in the whole game.
I understand it's not for ROG, I was simply showing the most common error with the mod in ROG. To answer your question, yes i don't know if it's actually going to stay that way as it gives no indication on how long the bird can survive and no way to "feed" the bird while it's in the bird cage.
Its not for RoG yet.
They made the birds starve in cages again?
Issue with ROG Beta when bird dies and it tries to spawn a feather.
Could you please implement that? It would make me absolutely love this mod!

Should work fine now, it was fixed like 2 days ago or something.
The crash is cause by a bug in game mod API, need to wait till Klei fix it.
Until then mod will crash no matter what.
How it was configured? And when the crash happened, you were near birdcages or very far away from them, also server or client ?
Seeds are from feeding, not random drops like feathers.
