Add a configuration that simply lowers the volume. Literally volume in the console -- when you get shot, and simulating losing proficiency in your senses, you can't hear much, including the disorienting sound effect (which is still present, but quiet as to not entirely annoy the user further than intended), and when it recovers just have it return to the original setting. If you want it to be fancy, fading could be cool.

I like the idea of simulating disorientation but I'm also playing a silly video game so I want it to be simulated and not necessarily feel it. Like a flashbang in a milsim. I'm okay with simulated tinnitus and a bang sound but I'm not okay with that flashbang actually detonating 180 decibels straight into my headphones and simulated tinnitus louder than my actual tinnitus.

I like the idea, don't get me wrong. Just wish I had the option to make it a tad bit quieter.

Hopefully the MWB patch comes soon. Fun mod, love it. Would love a volume slider for the trauma stuff though.

I just wanna ask do the effects carry trough levels? Like if i hit a level transition and a new map loads, will like the values that damage already caused carry onto the next or previous map?

@CokeMan3456 i (kinda) figured out a fix. When this issue occurs, try spamming the context menu and clicking your mouse, you should spawn normally.

Big issue, when you get into the incapacitated state while dead, it prevents you from respawning, meaning you HAVE to restart, which is really inconvenient, is there any way to fix this issue?

there should also be a way to change the speed/pitch of the custom tinnitus sound, cause from what ive heard it seems to be speeding up the custom sound by 2X speed and pitching it up a bit

just a suggestion but do you think it would be possible to make it to where seeing dead bodies or killing/harming people also gives you "trauma"? or some kind of fear mechanic like shown in the fear of heights and shellshock mechanic? after all i dont think i'd be perfectly fine harming another person realistically.

This be a good mod. Couldn't figure out how to add a custom tinnitus sound but I did manage to mute it by making it not able to find anything.

It is meant to be overstimulating and make you panic. However, if you feel settings are too high by default, everything is customizable :)

This is a cool addon, but i don't really see the purpose of giving your little guy extreme anxiety stress and otherwise in game, and the voices are very annoying aswell as the loud noises.

would be cool if it only applied effects when the player actually takes damage so that it does not conflict with mods like "sandbox shields" where you can still feel pain while being protected from damage.

Mods that multiply damage #s are highly recommended, such as my own Drop Dead system. Just tweak multipliers in the settings menu :)

I use ragmod which also has a first person death camera but it gets stuck for 2 seconds before snapping back to the character

I personally use a first-person death mod. I am unsure of the cause behind this. I'll look into testing.

After a bit of testing, I found out that this mod conflicts with mods which keep your camera in first person when you die (tested with 'First Person Ragdolls' and 'Tarkov-like Death Effect'). There's some sort of weird delay right after you die which lasts ~2 - 3 seconds, in which you're in third person like vanilla, then after the delay, your camera snaps back into first person like it should. Tried adjusting this mods convars, but nothing I tried seemed to fix it. Is this something that can be fixed?

Also; I don't know what is specifically causing it, but if you have an addon that sets your speed(like ulx group properties or TacMove, etc.) to a value lower then default, and you take damage to a certain threshold (tested it at 150 and 100 pain/trauma with dps_debug_pain) it sets your movespeed back to default.

So for example, I have TacMove and ULX setting my walk and run speed to 100 and 200(respectively), when I do dps_debug_pain 100, wait a second, then set it to 0, I magically move at like twice the speed. No idea why. Figured I'd report it to get an option added for manual speed overrides, since disabling adrenaline and or enabling arcade mode just don't fix the issue.

Otherwise really cool addon pls keep updating it,,, also if you need someone to help test I'm kind of goated at that lol
