I have no idea why that method would NRE since there's not much in there that could cause problems, but I've added a few extra checks now anyway. I hope that actually addressed the issue.

Ah, that's--not really /good/ exactly, I hope your pup and mask are recoverable ;v; but it is good that the mystery is solved so that hopefully someone can find a fix soon

So I'm thinking about this, between the message getting logged fine (if repeatedly) and that prefix apparently /being/ called repeatedly, if I had to guess something's going wrong in the base method. I'm not sure if I can reproduce this since I've never had that issue and I don't think it's my mod that's causing it (though I'm hesitant to assert this without knowing what's going on)

Do you happen to have the bepinex console enabled? That often displays issues that don't get otherwise logged, we might find who the culprit is there.

@cedarsglen I'll look into it as soon as time allows. Which shelter was this, in which campaign? Or is it just all of them? Also were you playing co-op with multiple players or just single player?

Hello! I am unfortunately encountering an issue while using this mod where shelters are freezing and crashing when trying to sleep in them. I am unsure if it is this mod in particular, or if it is an incompatibility with another mod I have enabled, but this mod is showing up on the logoutput log when the issue occurs. Upon hibernation, the game froze, and there was an endless loop of these two messages:

[Info :Oops, My Bad] Saving VultureMask ID.-1.8345 was held by Player 1
[Info :Oops, My Bad] Saving Slugpup ID.-1.7732 was held by Player 1

Oh, and the consolelog is flooded with (in the most recent instance)
"Scavenger ID.4037.30255: Calculating reputation penalty leniency for violent act against friend by player 1."
"Die! Scavenger"

The scavenger in question was further away from other scavengers, but the first two crashes occured with them grouped up - the listed IDs were just different every so often

I think I've managed to reproduce the issue now as well. Looking into the cause and how to fix it now, give me a bit, and thank you for bringing this to my attention.

My first crash happened around the rightmost side of SI_D06, and my second crash happened in nearby the top-right pipe of SI_C05.
I was able to replicate it again in SI_D06, moments ago.

As for settings, I have "Apply leniency for close-by threats" enabled and set to a max distance of 3, with "scaling with closeness" also true. All other options are the default.

There seems to be a soft game crash that happens when killing a scavenger (as Artificer) in a room where they're KO'd by an echo.

@rolu😀 You can lower the game speed in the remix menu or use the danger reflex mod that afaik is exactly what you want (though I've never used it). I don't think an option like that would fit this mod's premise specifically but I hope you'll find what you're looking

@SlugSlug You mean like a tamed lizard? That seems beyond the scope of this mod, but could be an interesting mod on its own. I'm not sure how hard it would be to write that sort of custom behaviour, so I make no promises, but I'll look into it.

i always bring a dead scavenger as some sort of blanket for my slugcat and their pups. that scavenger really liked me.

but anyways, could you add an option to befriend a single scavenger and make em just follow you everywhere?
