Thanks for understanding. It's actually been pretty upsetting for me that people were so quick to assume I was being transphobic while seemingly not actually reading what I said. And yeah, I agree the taunt isn't inherently bad. It just shouldn't be the standard/only taunt.

It's like if Garnet's only taunt was "Don't be racist." She'd just seem like "The Black One" to people who haven't watched Steven Universe, instead of actually seeming like a character. And yeah, I love this mod & the character. I was never sure how Vivian could work in this game but Kels nailed it.

@D YellowMadness I read through the posts, and while I was initially taken aback, I get what you mean. I'd just work on phrasing for future reference. However, I do think the taunt can be worked on to make it more fitting, though I don't think it's bad itself. As for Vivian herself? Love her. She feels incredibly fun to play.

I've been using her a lot for the past few weeks & she's so well designed I don't think I have even one gameplay criticism. Not even a picky mild one. That might be a first for me. I was gonna say her forward strong feels like it doesn't reach far enough backward but then I checked the hitbox in Practice & it turns out I'm just bad. Top notch character. Crazy that she's only your third.

Despite my complaints about the taunt, it might be cool if the trans alts had trans flag color palettes for the explosions. Speaking of which, I like that the bomb (I don't remember what it's called) is used in the up strong.

Being able to wall jump cancel down special might be cool too.

I'm starting to think V.O.I.D. is just trolling badly. They won't clarify what they mean & "clearly guy had to "Trump" it, tbh real" is just word salad.

@Xompo: Imagine being so transphobic that you can't imagine why someone wouldn't want a trans character to randomly bring up her transness during a fight when it's out of character for her to do so. If Midoriya's taunt was him slamming a Japanese flag into the ground, I'd criticize that too. Do you think that means I hate Japanese people?

Vivian's my favorite Paper Mario 2 character & part of the reason is because she's a rare example of a trans character being written as a person instead of a prop or a hate sink. If I didn't respect trans people, I wouldn't care enough about the taunt to mention it. Besides, I was being very polite & you weren't so you shouldn't be the one talking about meltdowns.

@Reiga: Yeah, I always kinda thought if anyone ever made Vivian, they'd go the easy route of just having the tail disconnect from the ground, which wouldn't have felt right at all.

@Prince Herb: If you have to avoid using a taunt just because it's cringe & an insult to the character, then it's a bad taunt. When I eventually make videos of her, I'm gonna have to remember not to instinctively taunt during victories or lulls because I'll look like a condescending panderer just because I accidentally used the taunt. Same with Garnet's taunt when I eventually record her.

Taunts are often where a character's personality shines through the most but their taunts are the opposite. i similarly avoid using Goku's taunt because although it doesn't have the pandering vibes, it represents the Awful flanderized braindead version of Goku instead of the version of Goku that make Dragon Ball so popular in the first place.

Glad I won't have that problem when using Madeline.

go fix combo and change the taunt otherwise mass of hate comes so be aware of that

I've tried her out now & she's fun. The only thing I don't like is her taunt. It's such a disservice to a character when their only taunt is something about their gender, race, sexuality, or whatever. Especially if it's not in character for them to be randomly bringing it up. Regardless, everything else was done really well.

Oh, I forgot, I had a gameplay suggestion though. It would be cool if she could use her down special offstage to enter the wall to get back onstage, similarly to Spooky. I don't know if that would be well balanced or easy to program so I'm not implying she needs it. Just that it might be cool. Sorry if you got spammed by notifications.
